ditto for DH & I, anything awful happening to DS16. May I say he's a new driver?
I also get all twisted up regarding my DNieces, Deanna & Miranda, ages 23 & 24 we are very close.
Miranda spent 2 years in Asia, was hospitalized twice (rabies & some weird bug bite in Cambodia!)& was in India when the tsunami struck (her bus broke down on the way to a coastal town, or she would've been right in the thick of it! ) & we couldn't get in touch with her for 3 days.
as for fears for myself, hmm..pain!
Besides the first thought that most everyone else shares; something happening to the kids, my fear is FROGS AND TOADS!!
Those things show up on our driveway and in the yard all the time. If I suddenly scream, everyone knows there's a frog or a toad nearby. I am so irrationally afraid of them, I panic if one is within sight. I've even freaked out when one hopped across our driveway when we were returning home from a shopping trip. I know the d@rn thing can't touch me in the car but, they scare me.
luvflorida, my butt hurt when I read your post! Does anyone elses butt ever hurt when they read something about someone hurting themselves? Strangest thing, but it's only when I read about something like that, or someone shows me a sore or tells about getting hurt. OMG, I hope the Tag Fairy is NOT reading this post.
If this shows up in your signature I hope my name is removed!!
Haha! I think I know what you mean, though. It gives you kind of a weird sensation. I did, however, have to go back and read my post and make sure I said it was my hand I cut and not my butt!! You would have thought the first time it cut me I would have felt it, but I guess being under the soapy water it delayed the pain.

I'm laughing so hard the kitten is looking at me funny. After reading your last post, I have this vision of you cutting your butt, but not realizing it because it was in the sink.
If I remember right, maybe it''s not a fear, but don't you also have a problem with people doing things like flossing in front of you? Or do I have you confused with someone else?

HaHa!! Yes, that's me, too!! I posted about strange things I've seen in the ladies restroom, and someone mentioned how she would floss and if something flew out of her mouth and landed on the mirror, she would just wipe it off. Now, that isn't a fear of mine, it's something that makes me gag just thinking about it, though. It's gross and nasty!
I'm pretty much an adrenaline junkie, so I tend to seek out activites that scare reasonable people. The one thing that gets me is being physically confined into an area where I don't have control over my exit. Not really claustrophobia, I'm fine in an MRI, etc. It's things like I can't sit in a middle or window seat on a plane, because I'm locked in by other people. Or being stuck on a really crowded WDW bus, where it's wall to wall people between me and the door. It's probably some deep rooted trust issue I have.
My big real life fears are the common ones- something awful happening to DD and me not being able to save her or help her; DH dying (he travels a lot in his job); me dying when DD is still young, and her growing up without me.
The dumb irrational ones are: driving through tunnels (I always worry about the tunnel collapsing on me), and FISH!!! I HATE fish- I try really hard not to go into the ocean, and especially the lake- I always think there are giant 600 lb catfish waiting to eat me in the lake!!! I get the shivers just thinking about scuba diving and being around all those fish. Blecch!!
For me it's not the tunnel collapsing on me, but the fact that I get tunnel vision and feel dizzy. I kind of like being a passenger in a car that is going through a long tunnel. I can sit back, look at the walls going by, and enjoy feeling dizzy. Kind of a cheap, legal thrill.
I'm afraid of tripping and slipping. We have this stair case at work and it always makes me nervous that I will somehow tumble down it or fall up it (I have tripped going up it and scrapped up my big toe).
When I was little my mom would always say don't do that you will crack your head open and for some reason that has totally stuck with me. You would think for someone who lives in a cold climate and who used to figure skate I would be comfortable walking around in the winter time, but for some reason I just kinda shuffle around especially if I have leather soled shoes on.
Scared of being still alive when the world ends. Scared of falling from heights...like gravity will suddenly stop working or something. Someone breaking into my house and if i getting an illness
