Disney!
We had already booked our trip for January 2010. A month or so later, I found out I was finally pregnant!Ten days after THAT my husband called and told me he had lost his job of 15 years and was getting no severance. So, needless to say...we did not go to WDW.
I hope we can manage a trip in January of 2011 - he is still not working full time but at least has a part time somethingWe had all the money saved and have luckily not had to touch it. I am still adding to the account every month.
I will never again tell my kids about a trip like that until we are on our way, or close to it. That was one of the worst times of my life - to tell my 5 and 7 year olds that they were not going to see Mickey. They have felt a lot of changes since Daddy has been home, but that one had the biggest ooomph.![]()

A Disney vacation in 2011! We will use our tax refund for most of it. We might be in Florida for two weeks split between Disney and visiting my folks. Will be the first time we drive there![]()
I should check out that blog. I'm trying to fund our Disney trip with "found money" also - anything I get from doing focus groups, rebates, bottle returns, change jar, etc goes into a seperate "Vacation" ING savings account. I have a little over $600 in there, plus another $400 in Disney Visa rewards. My plan is to save enough in the ING account to pay for our flights, hotel & park tickets, use the Disney Visa to buy those things & pay it off right away, then use all my Visa rewards to pay for our food & souvenirs on the trip. It will be the first time in my life I'll come home from vacation without the bill waiting for me and I'm so excited! I hope I can pull it off!The kids and I have been following the "couponing to disney blog" and she saved for a DW vacation with "Found Money" rebates, etc. So I told the kids about it and we were inspired.
Alaska next summer! We want to do a balcony room with lots of excursions. Then it will be saving money for hopefully a baby in two years![]()

maybe I sound boring but I notice a lot of people are saving for "something" and I'm just saving to be saving. I'm saving to have money in case I need it for something later like if the washer goes out or if we need a new hot water heater.
So I'm saving for the future unexpected expenses I guess.
That doesn't sound very exciting but that's what I'm doing.![]()
