What are you reading?

I just picked up "A Million Little Pieces" after seeing everyone rave about it on Oprah yesterday. I'm on page 64 already and cannot stop reading this book. I just wanted to let you all know about it. Putting my face back in my book now...

I finished this book a week or so ago, and it was great. I couldn't put it down and stayed up til one in the morning finishing it. I also used it for a report in my Sociology class. Hope you enjoyed it.

Just finished John Saul's Perfect Nightmare..pretty good.

I am about to start A Good Yarn by Debbie Macomber. I just read the 5th book in her Cedar Cover series and it was pretty darn good (the whole series that is) can't wait for #6...which comes out in a year..sigh

The Dirt and Tommyland. Whatever short story is assigned in English

I read Years of Wonder. That was a good book. Who is Pope Joan by?

I just started Christ the Lord by Anne Rice today.

I saw her in an interview about this book on the Today show this week. How do you like it so far?

Has anyone read the Mitford Years series by Jan Karon? I just started them, I am on the 2nd book and I really like them, although they are a little different from what I usually read.

I just finished "Leaving Eden" by Ann LeClaire.

I may start Lucia, Lucia. (I loved the Big Stone Gap series by same author!)

CindyB, I listened to The Secret Life of Bees and loved listening to it. The reader had the perfect voice for that main character!

I just finished listening to At Home In Mitford.

Has anyone read 'Liberating Paris' by Linda Bloodworth Thomason? (She wrote for designing Women)

I was forced to read so many books in high school that I did not like-this turned me off to reading. I have not read a book-other than the Bible-for 14 years. Give me any newspaper though and I am game.

My wife insists that I read the left behind series by Tim Lahaye.

I am reading Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen. Its a great book.

kydisneyfans, this makes me so sad!!! I couldn't imagine a life without books - it would be a major loss in my life. Please say you'll go to the bookstore and choose something that you're interested in - there's a whole other world out there that's not classic high school literature!!!!

I'm reading "A breath of snow and ashes" too. I love Jamie Fraser! The Outlander series is awesome!!!

I second this command!

I am reading "The Touch" - a collection of short stories about a fictitional plague where infected people become Deprivers...they are able to touch people and deprive them of one of their senses. The editor had sent a request for stories to a myriad of authors, along with a description of the plague, and selected the best submissions for this book.

It's very, very strange!

I am also a hoarder of books...I have about 100 under my bed waiting to be read, including the first few volumes of the Left Behind series, Mirror Mirror by Gregory Maguire, Memoirs of a Geisha, Tara Road, Empire Falls, 1776...the list goes on and on!

If I am not reading I am dissing or doing Sudoku. My house is a disaster and Christmas is tomorrow! YIKES.

I'm just finishing "Ballad of the Whiskey Robber: A True Story of Bank Heists, Ice Hockey, Transylvanian Pelt Smuggling, Moonlighting Detectives, and Broken Hearts" by Julian Rubenstein. It's an amusing book, but not as good as I originally anticipated.
My next book is "Ireland: A Novel" by Frank Delaney. :)

I'm reading Everything is Illuminated, it is hilarious so far. The story is about a guy who travels to the Ukraine looking for information about his relative in the past, and his encounters with a local guy who serves as his translator. But the translator really doesn't have such a good grasp of English, which is what makes reading it so funny. :sunny:

I finished, too, "A Million Little Pieces".......GREAT read!!!
I am now starting his "follow-up"........"My Friend Leonard" I am also enjoying it!

I'm currently reading Lord Brocktree by Brian Jaques, part of the Redwall series. After that series, I'm gonna read what my fiance's parents are going to give to me for Christmas *I asked for it* - the box set of Eragon & Eldest by Christopher Paolini, part of the Inheritance series.

I'm not reading anything at the moment, but my best friend is giving me 3 new books for Christmas tomorrow - The Broker by John Grisham, The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella, and another one I forgot! (We picked them out together today, last minute shopper haha!) But I will probably be starting in on one of those tomorrow for sure. :)
