I just finished Startdust by Neil Gaiman, which was OK but pretty thin compared to his better work (Anansi Boys and American Gods).
I am just about done with Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett and Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami. The Pratchett book is just for fun or when I am too brain fried from work to read anything more challenging. I love the satire in his books and this one ranks right up there with the best of them. It's amazing to me just how good the Discworld series continues to be. He has written more than 30 of them and I think they are actually getting better. That's quite an acomplishment.
Murakami is one of my favorite writers and Kafka on the Shore ranks up there with his best work. But his writing is very dense and takes a fair amount of consideration to get the most out of it.
Next up will be Wicked by Gregory Maguire and *********** by Neal Stephenson (and possibly Small Gods by Terry Pratchett, it seems like I have to always be reading one of his books).
