What Are You Reading Right Now?

I just finished the second book in the Pink Carnation series by Lauren Willig called the Masque of the Black Tulip. It is about a group of British spies during the wars with Napoleon. But they are also romance novels. Very light and fun, not to mention anachronistic. They are a bit like watching a Knight's Tale.

Right now I'm reading an old favourite, Green Darkness by Anya Seton

"The Rescue" by Nicholas Sparks, I like it. Typical Sparks but after the last few books I needed something lighter.

I read that book. I enjoyed it. I love Mary Higgins Clark. I've read a lot of her books. Mary Jane Clark is also a very good mystery writer. I've read a bunch of hers too.

I'm currently reading, Salvation in Death, by J.D. Robb. It's a good one.

I'm reading "Handle with Care" by Jodi Picoult. It's okay, but I'll be looking for something lighter after this. I have to read it a bit at a time; for me, the troubled relationships and the physical pain one of the characters has to endure makes it a difficult read.

I'm enjoying it, but I think Mary is sticking to her formula a little too much in this book. My mom said she figured out whodunnit by about half way through. I think I've had it figured out by about Chapter 2. We'll see if I'm right.

That would stink. I love guessing and while it's fun to think you're right, I don't want to "know" it! Let us know if you are right.

I was reading Agatha Christie for a good while. Really enjoyed her novels and short stories. I'll probably look for more. And I need to find out if Wendi Corsi Staub has any new books out. She's one of my favorites for beach reading.

I'm also listening to James Patterson's First To Die in my car. I've never read his stuff before, so I gave it a try. The CD set is his first 3 in the Woman's Murder Club series. I'm enjoying it so far.

I just finished Bone Doll's Twin, Hidden Warrior, and The Oracle's Queen. By Lynn Flewelling. They are all a good read if you like the Fantasy Genre.

Yep...it's very much how I felt when I read "My Sister's Keeper." That left me very unsettled while reading it too, and I had to read it in very small chunks. I've seen trailers for the movie, and I doubt I'll take the time to see it. When I'm finished with this book, I don't think I'll read any of her others; they leave me emotionally spent, and not in a good way.

I used to be an oncology nurse, and there were a few parents who had children after an older child was diagnosed wih leukemia, hoping the baby would be a match for a bone marrow transplant for their older child. Now I'm a NICU nurse, and have taken care of a few babies with OI. I have a sister who's an attorney, and I've always felt that litigation rules and grounds need a serious overhaul in our country. Maybe it's all just a little too close to home for me.

Nineteen Minutes was my favorite of Piccoult's books.

I finished The Lady Elizabeth by Alison Weir. I was so tired at work this week. I couldn't put it down to go to sleep at night. I wanted to get through it because I found the story to be fascinating.

Today I started The Boleyn Inheritance by Phillipa Gregory. I have a feeling I'll be doing the same thing with that book. It's very good so far.

There is also one by Alison Weir called Innocent Traitor about Lady Jane Gray. Its good too if youlike all the English/ Henry VIII stuff.

I really liked The Other Boleyn Girl... didn't like the movie, though. I think I'll read The Constant Princess next from Gregory. I've decided to make this summer the year of the Tudor, so I'm consuming all that I can get my hands on concerning Henry VIII, et al.

I'm glad to hear that The Constant Princess was good, too.
