What Are You Reading Right Now?

Finished Summer Sisters and still feel "Meh" about it. I kind of think the ending was a disappointment. A little rushed. And mildly unsatisfying.

Started Shoe Addicts Anonymous by Beth Harbison today.

I also started my very first audiobook in the car on the commute home yesterday. I chose The Nanny Diaries. It's narrated by Julia Roberts. So far I like it. I've laughed out loud a few times.

I just started "The Senator's Wife" by Sue Miller. So far I'm really enjoying it, but in a thought-provoking way. Anyone else read it?

I just started reading Into the Wild. I saw the movie when it came out and I wanted to read the book.

MM27 - I LOVE this!!

"I’m not OCD. I’m CDO. It’s like OCD, only in the correct alphabetical order."

I can so relate. That's totally me. :goodvibes

I have the Senator's Wife by Karen Robards in my pile to read. Same Title different Author.

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer

Actually, this is my second time reading it. I love it.

I just finished Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
I really liked it.

Now I'm reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
And still reading The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.

I'm reading The Year of Fog by Michelle Richmond. I keep falling asleep because of jet-lag, but I REALLY want to get to the end and find out what happens!!!!!

My husband has been trying to get me to start reading F.Paul Wilson for ages now, but there were always other books getting in the way. I just finished the first of his Repairman Jack series, The Tomb, and have started Legacies. These books are AMAZING.

I loved the Key trilogy! I have to say I'm not particularly a Nora Roberts fan, but I really enjoyed that one. When I saw that this trilogy was about vampires, I couldn't pass it up.

You may want to read "You Suck" by Christopher Moore. It was really good I finished it in two days. I then jumped into another of his books called "A Dirty Job"

I don't usually get into vampire books, but "You Suck" was really funny!

How was this? It's on my "To Be Read" bookshelf at home.
My favorite book by Christopher Moore (and close to an all-time fav) is LAMB: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal.

I've read Fluke by Christopher Moore and have always looked at his others but never picked them up. Fluke was one of the oddest books I've ever read but every time I try to give it away, I decide to keep it. I plan to read it again someday. It also makes me look at whales a little differently! :lmao:

I had Fluke and You Suck (I think) and I believe I swapped them both without reading them (and without even thinking about it) on paperbackswap.com.

LAMB, however, completely blew me away. It is, actually, a story about the life of Jesus Christ but told from a P.O.V. very different than what one might expect. It really is Christopher Moore meets the Bible, so you have to be able to "take" that kind of humor.

I will say this, though, at the end I was literally SOBBING. I went to Catholic school for 10 years and I was literally more moved by this story than I was by anything I'd read in school! Bad? Probably. I'm sure there are people that would flame me up one side and down the other, but it truly, truly touched me in the end. There was just something about it...
