If there are any adult Twilight fans out there that haven't heard of the Sookie Stackhouse books, give them a look. There are about 7 or 8 now, and they are about a human woman (who happens to be telepathic) and her interaction with the non-human residents of Louisiana, including vampires, shapeshifters, Weres, and Fairies. She has realtionships with several different species, all of them sexy and handsome males.

Thank you I will definately look into these...

I am reading As the Crow Flies by Jeffrey Archer. It took me a couple of days to get into it, but now I am having a hard time putting it down.

Thanks, I think I will try the Stackhouse series. I am finding the wait til August to be unbearable. Obviously I am a huge Twilight Fan.

I've read 3 of your 4 selections (did not read Glass Castle) & enjoyed all of them.

I read She's Come Undone a long time ago. Does that author have any more books out (I know he had one more that I read, but the title escapes me right now - I believe it was about a set of male twins).

Loved The Memory Keepers Daughter & also Water for Elephants.

Still reading The Thirteenth Tale. It's very good. Nothing like I've read before, but I'm enjoying it. There are a few twists that I didn't expect.

I read, She's Come Undone" a long time ago too. I read the twins book you referred to by Wally Lamb, "I Know This Much Is True" is the title. I liked it!

Just back from the beach and I read two very different books, both excellent:

'The Gift of Peace' by Joseph Cardinal Bernardin

'Marley and Me' by John Grogan

Just finished The Last Lecture. I am a few chapters into Love the One You're With. I think it is going to be pure fluff, but that is okay on the summer.

Just reread "The Color of Water" by James McBride, that book is just outstanding. What a journey.

I have 4 books packed to take on our long weekend away.....I will post when I finally pick one:confused3

That's the name. I couldn't remember it. Thanks!

Wow...so I started The Favored Child last night and I just finished it. It was pretty good, although I got a little (ok a lot) frustrated with some of the characters. I must know how the trilogy ends, so tomorrow I am starting Meridon. Then I will start reading some of the other Philippa Gregory books. I LOVE summer reading!

I finished Twilight last night. I had started reading it aloud to my kids. We got up to Chapter 15 and I couldn't wait for my kids to get home to read it to them, so I sat on my deck and devoured the rest of the book. I can't believe that it is considered Young Adult. This 40-something LOVED it! I have New Moon on reserve at the library. I'm just waiting for it to come in so I can read it. After I kept telling the kids how great the ending was, my DS wants to come home after work today and have me read to them so he can experience it, too. My DD wasn't home when I read Chapter 14 to my DS the other night, so she is reading that now to catch up to where I'll read to them today.

Shem Creek by Doreatha Benton Frank
I love all her books.

I am finishing reading Jodi Picoult Pretty Picture and don't like it. It has not held my interest but am determined to finish it. Anyone else feel the same way?

Start reading the first few pages of her novel Tenth Circle and really like it....

I tend to run hot and cold with her.

Love this thread!!! Thanks for all the positive input.

Have a Magical Disney Day

Do you mean Picture Perfect? I read that one & didn't care for it so much either. It was just OK for me. I thought it was dragged out way too much.

The Tenth Circle was OK for me also. I know what you mean about being "hot & cold" with her books.

OOPS I did mean Picture Perfect....not enough coffee today:):)
