What Are You Reading Right Now?

It's the second in The Circle trilogy. :)
I own that, but I haven't read it yet. I own a lot of her books, a whole bookcase of just her books actually, so there are many I own that I haven't read.

You should read it when you get a chance!! It's really very good.

Right now I am reading Secret Ingredients: The New Yorker Book of Food and Drink. It's a compliation of all of the essays relating to food and/or drink that have ever appeared in the New Yorker magazine.

I am also reading a novel called The Inheritance of Loss, by Kiran Desai. I have to be honest though, it is sloooow going. It takes a lot for me to decide not to finish a book, but I am seriously considering ditching this one. I just can't get into it, and I find my mind wandering while I am reading it. I've slogged through two-thirds, but...

Just started Molokai by Alan Brennert, recommended on one of these threads. So far, :thumbsup2 .

Duma Key by Stephen King - so far not impressed but it's a big book so maybe it'll get better.

Also reading a Benjamin Franklin biography with my son.:)

I haven't bought that one yet for fear I wouldn't like it. I hate paying good money for a book, and then not liking it enough to even finish it.

I tried reading his last one "Lisey's Story" and could not get into it at all. :(

I just finished "The Bone Garden" by Tess Gerritsen. It was quite different than other books of hers that I've read, but I really, really enjoyed it and hated seeing it come to an end. She's one of my favorite writers.

I also recently read "Critical" by Robin Cook - another good read if you like medical thrillers.

The book I am reading right now is for work and is, "Organic God" by Margaret Feinberg. I don't buy all of her logic in re God's work in people's lives, but she is a very readable author.

For pleasure I am reading a book in Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody series, He Shall Thunder in the Sky and sadly, it is not one of her best. In fact, I'm ticked, bec I love her books and actually bought it (rather than getting it from the library) bec I thought it was a sure thing and it's quite the slog fest.

I am re-reading Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. Right now I'm on Dragonfly in Amber. When I'm finished with it, I'll have to put her series aside for a while because I have some library books to tackle before they are due. Too many books, too little time! :)

I am reading The Time Travelers Wife.

"Therapy" by Jonathan Kellerman. It's my first book by this author, and I'm not as blown away by it as the reviewers seemed to be. :confused3

Before that, I read my daughter's Christmas gift: "Inkheart" - - what a great book! Not just for kids! We're reading "Inkspell" next. "Inkdeath" comes out in October, I think.

I'm reading one of the newest Dean Koontz novels. It's called The Darkest Evening of the Year. I'm about halfway through. It's pretty good, but I'm still trying to figure out what's going on. :lmao:

I haven't gotten that one yet, but plan to. He is one of my favorite authors! :thumbsup2

I don't care as much for the older Nora Roberts stuff (the ones that are predominantly romance novels), but I love her newer trilogies that are more like mysteries.

Her series she wrote as J.D. Robb (the In Death series) is very good as well. :)

I edited my first post to throw in some of my other favorites she's written. :teeth:

I love that series.

I just got that yesterday and started reading it even though I had already started The Terror by Dan Simmons, which was a little wordy so far.

I'm reading (when I get around to it....I need to fix that!) some fluff right now. I am reading Undead & Unwed by Mary Janice Davidson. :)

Today I bought New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. I don't know if I should start it this weekend, because I will be totally engrossed in it, I'm sure!

I read a lot of Jonathan Kellerman stuff a while back and enjoyed most of it. His Alex Delaware series is mostly very good. (I think there were a couple of duds in there, but good for the most part).

90 Minutes in Heaven - Don Piper
Very moving.
