Growing up, we always got a chocolate bunny, some Peeps, and jelly beans in our baskets. We would get one small token gift from the Easter Bunny. Usually a new coloring book and crayons, or a piece of jewelry to go with our Easter dresses. One year the Easter Bunny brought me a Madonna record
That was the best!
My kiddos use my Easter baskets from when I was growing up. I had a basket at my grandparents and somehow acquired 2 baskets at mom's, so when DH and I got together my mom gave me all of the baskets and told me to use the baskets for the kids. The kids know that they were my baskets and I think it makes them even more special.
The boys are both getting an Aeropostle t-shirt, a Reester Bunny, some jelly beans, some malted milk eggs and 3 Butterfinger eggs (their fave!). They'll also get a plastic gold egg with $10 in it to make up or their sisters little gifts.
DD is getting a chocolate bunny, jelly beans, malted milk eggs, a Peeps chocolate covered marshmellow bunny, a ring pop and Peeps. She's also getting some new hair bands and clips, a Tinkerbelle Barbie type doll, a LPS stuffed chicken (that we got for $.96!!), a set of paint markers (forgotten Christmas item) and a my first Uno game.
I hear of folks around here who have bought their kids bikes and things of that nature for Easter. I think that's too much. We end up spending about $25 on each kids basket with the candy and little fillers and such. That's more then enough.

He's had the same wicker basket since he was 1 year old. He loves beef jerky and Slim Jims, so most of his basket will be filled with those. I'll toss in a few chocolate bars and some Air Head candy, which are the only sweets that he really likes. I have a new pair of inexpensive earbuds for him, and I might toss in a couple of $5 gift cards for Wendy's, Taco Bell, etc. I usually put razor refills in his basket too.
She does love freeze dried strawberries and mangoes, so I'll probably put a couple of pouches of those in the basket. I got her a medium sized stuffed bunny, a small stuffed chicken, a "big girl" metal silverware set, some toy stacking cups, an Easter themed rubber ducky, bottle of bubbles, and an Easter board book. Grandma always gives all of the small children $10 for their Easter basket, but I'll just put that in her piggy bank. I still need to go shopping to find her an Easter basket. We traditionally use the same one every year, so I want something sturdier than what
