What are you planning on drinking New Year's Eve?

No alcohol served in my home EVER, under any circumstances. My husband has been sober for 3 years now, and he deserves a home that is a "safe" environment. Fortunately, our family and friends understand and support him completely. When we're in their homes, they do whatever they want, and he has no problem with it, but our home is DH's haven.

I may try making Italian margaritas for the first time - yummy!
This sounds interesting. What are these?

We will probably have the same thing as we have had for the last several years. We love to drink Ballatore Gran Spumante on New Year's and only then.

I like to spend New Year's Eve at home watching movies with my 15 year old DD. I will, no doubt, be drinking Diet Coke!

A margarita with amaretto. I get them at this one Italian restaurant and love them frozen even though I only drink regular margaritas on the rocks. I hope to find a recipe that tastes like this restaurant's version.

Italian Margarita
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ingredients:
1 oz Amaretto
2 oz Sour mix
1/2 oz Tequila (Cuervo)
1/2 oz Triple sec
Mixing instructions:
Pour into glass. Stir. Add ice cubes.

What is a chocolate martini?? Sounds kind of good but than anything with the word chocolate in front of it usually is!!!:hyper:

Non, except for the champagne toast at midnight. I have to be in work at 7AM on New Year's Day.

Cristal :) My boyfriend got some for Christmas and we're splurging as the ball drops.

No alcohol here and probably not even staying up to see the New Year in.

I suppose a glass of Asti Spumante. And then diet coke or whatever. I am not even sure if we are going anywhere, LOL. I hope not. :teeth:

Coffee, coffee, coffee.....
and maybe 1 glass of wine at 12am on New Years.

Have to stay awake.....the Twilight zone marathon runs from around 7.30am Wends till well into late Thursday night!
At least a good 36hrs of the old series!

Very good question...will most likely depend on what I end up doing, which is currently in the air!! Either way it will be at least one alcoholic beverage at 12, perhaps a few more :smooth:

Having a bottle of our favorite champagne - Moet Chandon White Star. We only have it at New Year's. I remember for Y2K we splurged and bought a bottle of Dom and it sure wasn't worth it! DH has a hard time staying up thou, he is an early bird and I am more of a night owl.:o

I've been into Kettle One and Tonic lately, but I overdid it a little a couple weeks ago  so I hope to drink some different martinis at this martini bar in AC on Wednesday!

I love flavored martinis. YUM!

I'm jealous!

just some sleep I think;)

No alcohol allowed on chemo for me, but my grandma had found some awesome nonalcoholic cherry champagne for Christmas (we have a lot of preggos in the family as well!!) which was wonderful, so I think that will be it for me!

I am attending a big function with an open bar (top shelf) from 7 until 2.
Then I will be sleeping there as well I guess so as I don't have to drive

Yesterday my best friend and her hubby got possesion of their new house! We, my dh and I are going to be parting there, you know, painting, ripping up carpet, striping wallpaper, etc... Seeing as New Years Eve is my Birthday:bounce: , i know i'll be getting presents, hehe. As for drinks.. my new fav is a shot of melon liquor with 7up, it yummy. A chocolate martini is 1/2 oz of creme de cacoa and 1/2 oz of vodka, this can work as a shot, or as a drink if shaken over ice first!

Happy New Year to one and all!! :jester:

You can kick up that chocolate martini a notch by using Godiva Chocolate licquor. They are quite yummy.

Anybody figure out what's in a lavender cosmo yet?
