I'm trying to figure out what to get/do for my mom.

Flowers, maybe, but I was hoping to think of something different.

She loves to read, so I might just get her a Border's gift card. As well as take her to dinner.

Can't afford jewelery right now.

Any other suggestions? What are you getting for your Mom?

I haven't got a clue what to get my Mum for Mothers Day.........think we might just take her out for a meal.........afterall she is in her late 80's & doesn't need anything.

Well Nutsy...I'll be one of those serving Mom's on Mother's Day...gotta work a Double shift too!!!
My mom is on the otherside of the state, so it looks like a card with a gift certificate in it and maybe flowers to follow on Saturday. At 79, she doesn't need much!
Aurora63...what a great idea...my mom reads constantly, thanks for a great idea!

I'm getting my mother a grandchild (hee hee) sorry couldn't resist. It's true though I've been waiting to tell her until then since God Willing this will probably be her last grandchild.

Pugdog007, Mother's Day is on May 9th.
I have been trying to figure out what to get my mom. I might send her flowers, and will send her something from our trip.
A gift certificate to Borders is a good idea for someone who likes to read. They can even get cds and magazines there.

My mother loves to read too, so when I was in Venice I bought her a beautiful Murano glass (top) bookmark and I am also sending her a dozen pink sweetheart roses.

As for my MIL, she has an extensive shoe (collectible) collection and I bought her a hand blown glass shoe with inlaid Murano beads from Venice. It was a little expensive, but it really is unique and I thought it would be a great addition to her collection.

I got my Mom some earrings she was eyeing (not expensive, but still nice) and a bottle of lotion from Bath and Body. We are going out next Saturday night to a National Scrapbook Day event & plan on having a great time together! :D

Mom lives in Illinois. I live, well, on a little island waaaaay out west. So I ordered her a gift basket full of coffees and such from greatarrivals.com. This company has worked out great for me since I've been over here. They've got cool baskets for Dad's, too (because they don't do flowers)!

I have absolutely the foggiest ideas as to what to get my mother. I guess I better start looking.

Hehe. . what I'd *really* like to get my mother for Mother's Day, is a trip to WDW! But considering I just got back last week, it's out of the question! LOL!

My mom is so hard to buy for. . jewelry she usually returns. . I bought her some Chanel No. 5 for Christmas and she ended up returning it because it's not the same anymore (true!).

So, I don't know *what* to do! Maybe I'll take her out to lunch or dinner, and buy her a gift certificate or something.

Now, my MIL is even *harder* to buy for, because she's the kind of person who has everything, or at least the money to buy it. LOL, one year I bought her some picture frames (expensive ones!) that matched the ones she had in her living room. . well a couple of years later I saw them in her garage sale, still in the package! LOL!

My mom's stand-up mixer crapped out during Christmas Cookie Fest 2003 (she pumps out TONS of cookies during the holidays) and my poor brother got stuck hand mixing - so we're getting her a new mixer.

and not a cheapie one - we're investing in a Kitchenaide one for her - in PINK! (don't ask - we're an oddball family - she'll laugh her butt off when she sees it)

Sadly, one day, I'll inherite this pink monstrosity (sp?)...but at least it will make me giggle.

MIL is very hard to shop for...most likely just a card...won't be seeing her anyway...I'm spending the day with my mom and DH is with his mom.
