What are you getting your Boys (age 5ish) for christmas.....

I had DS (5) write his letter to Santa yesterday. He asked for Batman Legos, Bakugan and Transformers. Batman Legos are apparently discontinued and $200 on ebay, so being 5, he will like any Legos. Got some Ben 10 Legos, the $10 Bakugan set and $10 Transformers set at Target this morning. He's also getting some Beyblade stuff, some fleece pj bottoms, flannel sheets $12 at Kohl's with the 20% off code), underwear (exciting, I know...), a couple of DS games and a Betta fish that he's been bugging us for for a year now. I think there's a couple of other random things I can't remember. Nothing huge, just a bunch of smaller items.

ETA: another thing I remembered...
a cardboard spaceship and castle for him and his brother to color/play in

I got my DS5 a Nintendo3DS, a few dinosaur DS game, a Chomper robotic dinosaur, Squinkies, moon dough building set, and Legos. Wow, that sounds like a lot, but with the sales, we came out pretty good. He's also getting the Angry Birds game from my in-laws.

My oldest ds will be 5 in February.

From us he is getting the plane from Cars 2, Legos, pajamas, personalized Mickey blanket, a few books, and a couple of Matchbox cars sets.

His Santa gift he will share with his 2 year old brother. I just bought them a Step 2 train table off of Amazon last night.

Yep, Legos are #1 here too. DS5 likes the Atlantis and Alien Conquest ones right now. Followed by anything Imaginext. I got him a 2 DS games, and Batman Imaginext stuff. Both my boys are still totally in love with their Pillow Pets from last year, so maybe yours would like that. Oh, he also loves his Tag pen and books he got for his birthday this year....

we got our 5 yr olds (yes, we have 2) the Hot Wheels Wall Tracks. As well as some tinker type toys. We also always get them books.

DS 5 is getting an electric train (his only Santa request), wii games, lego set, some tonka trucks, matchbox cars, a pogo stick, books, PJ's and a filled stocking.

MY DS will be 5 next week. Some of the items he is getting either for bday or xmas are the Hot Wheels Super 6-Lane Raceway, a Leappad, a kids guitar and a Razor A3 scooter. The scooter is the only thing he asked for this year.

We bought the new Leappad with a case and game (Tangled) for my DS5. He reaslly wants Rock Star Mickey, which I was against but I got a good price with a free microphone. He also wanted a Trash Pack, available at TRU. I also got a Razor scooter from Walmart for $23 last night. His brother bought him Disney Headbandz from Target. For his 5th bday, we bought Disney Apples to Apples...he loves it!

My five year old is really into playing army. I am going to make him actual dog tags (like...for a dog) from the machine in the pet section at walmart and put them on a chain. It'll be his favorite gift, I already know LOL

I'm having a hard time with my DS5 this year - he *should* be the easiest one to shop for, but all he asks for are things like his big brothers have - which he isn't ready for (like an ipod, 3ds, and an Air Swimmer shark that has mixed reviews etc...). He isn't big on Legos or Hotwheels, already has the world's free supply of firetrucks, and I try not to do tons of video games.

I'll be watching this thread hoping for ideas! :thumbsup2

Mine just turned 6. He really wants a Nitendo DS, but we had talked and I already told him it wouldn't happen. I am against playing too much video game and since we already have a Wii and he is allowed to play 30 mins two days a week, I think he has enough for now.

So far I've got him:

1. 4 Scholastic Reader Books. (He picked those at a school book fair, but I found they have a 4 for 3 sale on Amazon at $3.99 each, so I told him he could ask Santa for those).

2. Diary of Wimpy Kids Cabin Fever. (He has never tried chapter book but the other day in B&N, he said he is ready to give it a try, so I would just buy one. The best price I have seen so far is at Amazon @7.66.)

3. Snap Circuits SC-300. I pick this one for him since he is so into science stuff right now (I Got it on Amazon when there was a sale for $31.99)

4. A talking world map I got on Amazon last year while it was on sale. I forgot how much it was. DS is addicted to maps. Even when we go to a mall, the first thing he wants to do is pick up a map!

5. Two Lego Ninjago Sets I got at TRU today with the BOGO 50% OFF deal. He hasn't asked for them, but he did mention that the whole Ninjiago thing was cool.

Things I am still looking for is:
1. Some cheap Ben-10 toy. Saw one at TjMaxx for $6.99, but I went today and it was gone. :confused3

2. A educational Wii game. I am planning Reader Rabbit, but will see if there is any other deal.

I am also giving him the Lego Star War Advent Calendar next week. I having been watcing it for a while. Got it at TRU today for $29.99. Best price I have seen so far.

My youngest is 5.

He is getting a 3ds with an accessories pack and 2 games (Nintendogs and cats lab, and probably super mario 3dland, but I haven't bought that yet)

a Dragon Happy Napper (he has been asking for months!)

A pair of slippers

A shirt

...and I'm not sure what (if anything) else....the 3 DS is a big purchase for us. We have 4 kids and the younger 2 are getting a 3ds each and the older 2 a Kindle fire each.

We got our 5 year old son so far an iTouch, 2 leapster explorer games, books from the school book fair, Star Wars Lego set. I'm waiting to see what the sales are like at TRU in the next 2 weeks, they're usually better than BF.

We got our DS who will be six in Jan, the leapster tablet, a couple games for it, an Imaginext helicopter (he already has the fire dept with truck & ambulance) and the space shuttle one), the Cars 2 Movie, the Scrabble Scoop game, and a playset (actually 3 .........Ramones, Luigis Tire Shop, and Flos V8 Cafe) off of ebay.

DS 5 is getting an electric train (his only Santa request), wii games, lego set, some tonka trucks, matchbox cars, a pogo stick, books, PJ's and a filled stocking.

Oh, I forgot that his BEST gift is going to be a circus tickets!

I stocked up on costumes after Halloween. He loves to dress up like any superhero under the sun and the ones he has have seen much better days. I think I ended up with between 10-15. Some he already has, but bought him the next size up and some are the new ones he has been asking for. Now I need to get him a box/tote to keep them all in. That is pretty much his "big" present this year.

We also got him Cars 2.

Other than that...I am kinda stumped. Maybe a Wii or DS game or two, but he is really not all the into electronics.

Of course, he wants every toy he sees on tv, so he should be easy to please! He loves legos and all of the other typical little boy stuff, so I'm just going to watch the sales and see what I can find.

My guy will be 5 in April. There isn't any one thing that he's super into which makes it tough. He hasn't asked for anything from Santa (aside from every commercial he sees then 2 min later "hey, I want THAT".
He's getting a leappad and 3 games (2 from grandparents), a thomas christmas set (a small one), headbanz game, a crayola glow dome, books, undies and a personalized blanket from Dis store. He'll most likely just want what his little brother gets anyway

My DS5 does the same thing!
He just had a birthday and got lots of Transformers (from friends with DS5s, the kids picked it out ... ;)) He still loves Hot Wheels and the Leapster Explorer games are great for travelling and sick days. He likes Legos but we're not getting any more Star Wars sets since he loses some pieces and then it doesn't work anymore. The Lego Hero factory line works much better since he puts them together and doesn't seem to lose pieces, or if he does he puts 2 together to make a larger hero. Pillow pets are great too at that age.
Having a much harder time with my niece who is 6. She's not into dolls or electronics, has more clothes than she could wear in a lifetime, owns enough art supplies to last her years ...
