What are we doing wrong??

I've done everything everyone says to do-- All 3 of us have registered on Disney.com, and priced trips (for various dates!), plus ordered the DVDs, and I've even asked a CM when I called last week. But I still can't seem to get a PIN. What am I doing wrong here? Why can't I seem to get it when everyone else can?

Is it because I'm already booked thru WDTC (and already have my ADRs)? Is it because they know they already have me snagged?

Any additional tips/ideas are greatly appreciated.

Rachel

I think it just seems like everyone is getting a pin. I rarely get one and it is always when I cannot use it.

You are doing everything right.

Pins are funny things. I have spent 20 years going to WDW without getting one. I had my name in everything and "had done it right" like the OP. There is no way to guarantee that you will get a pin. It's the nature of the beast. I am happy to say that last year I finally got my first one but have not received any since.

Just know that you are not alone. It seems like it is everyone but it is not. I have been trying for weeks as well and no pin for me yet. Pixie dust to you! I hope you get one soon!

I think they already know you're coming, so they're not going to offer you a PIN - just my opinion, mind you.
I booked a trip for my family & my sister's family last month or so. This will be my 3rd visit in 3 years. My sister hasn't been in many years. While booking our trip, I signed my sister up on the WDW site & indicated that she hadn't been in a long time, AND said that she had plans to visit within the next year or so. Lo & behold, she had a 40% off PIN within days!!! I myself have never rec'd a PIN.....

Trust me Rachel you are soooooo not alone, i am sitting here thinking the same exact thing as you, i even heard of a new pin code, kids eat and stay free, this is what i am dying to get...
i've done everything as well, registared with every disney site, even saved 4 quotes etc.
i am hoping WE can get something soon!
Good luck to you

I am another one who has gotten some PINs but nothing I can use. I got 2 separate ones for free dining in Dec which was already GP and I got 2 room only discounts for end of Nov through Dec 24, 1 for WDW and 1 for DL, but we can not go until June 2010 when the kids get out of school again.
I almost think I would rather not get one at all then get ones that I can't use. It is like a tease and I feel like I will not get another one since they have already sent me some. Lately it feels like that is true. I am just holding out hope that after the 1st of the year they will get over the holiday push and offer something I can take advantage of.

Have you orded the maps, I think thats how I got my first pin code! Hope that helps!!

Haha! Awwwww yeah.... several times! I've taken surveys, chatted with CMs, blah blah blah. I think a PP poster said it right-- they KNOW I am coming (this is my 1st trip in 10 years and will likely be my last for at least 5!) so they've got me right where they want me. Haha.

Oh well. I'll keep right on trying (cause that's how I am.... don't take NO for an answer!), and hopefully we'll all get one sooner or later! Pixie dust!:wizard:

No, it's more random than that. I received a PIN when I was already booked and also received one when I hadn't (we go about once/year).

Hang in there!! Just keep logging in and pricing vacations and saving your offers....when you're done saving it, try clicking on "Walt Disney World" at the top so it takes you back to the main page. This should open a pop up asking you why you haven't finished booking. You can select something (like "you're not ready to book " or "you don't feel it's the best value", whatever you want) At the bottom, you can put your own comment in. You can put something like "we are still undecided and are still planning our vacation". I can't even tell you how many times I did this and finally I got the email in my husbands email !! But really, don't give up. I felt the same way you do....that EVERYONE is getting one but me. I don't know if any of it had anything to do with getting the email, but we got the email for most of 2010 and the email was addressed to our family and had the week and the hotel that we were interested in...so someone was watching !! SO hang in there and don't give up hope !!! Good luck and I wish you much pixie dust !! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

I done everything :upsidedow(3 months now)
to get a pin and still nothing!! It's not fair!!:sad2:
I ordered everything on 3 different Email addresses, taken every survey, answered the reason why I didn't book (because of cost and said I was thinking of going to Universal :scared1:) chatted online with CM and asked and they say the same thing and go ahead and book and apply if a code comes out but still nothing. It's so frustrating!!
I even started looking at taking a
Carnival Cruise because it doesn't look like we will get a code
but I really want to go to WDW.

At least I know I'm not alone. I have done everything that you have all suggested with no luck. :sad2:

I had almost decided not to try anymore, but you have all given me hope and I will keep trying.

Just one question, who is the e-mail from when you receive the pin code?

Thanks,
Kim

:sad1: I hear you no pin for us!!!!!

I have done it all too!

:wizard: I still keep checking and hoping!!!:wizard:

....but please don't give up! You can still get this PIN. Here's my suggestion. Register with disneyworld.com with a different email (husband's or significant other's for instance). Clear all cookies from your web browser. Make sure you allow pop ups from disneyworld.com (i.e., disable the pop up blocker). Save up to 5 packages under "saved offers." Play around with various packages (hotels, tickets, dining plan, etc). Make sure you have them set to the dates you want to travel. At some point before you leave the website a pop up survey will show up. Answer it with the option "still planning my trip, not ready to book." There is a place where you can write more reasons. You might say you are hoping for some sort of offer for your travel dates. If you have the opportunity to chat with a Live CM, do so. Most importantly, keep trying for as long as it takes. We almost gave up and then the PIN showed up in our email. Oh! I almost forgot, make sure you read all emails from Disney Destination. The PIN we received looked like some sort of advertisement for one of the resorts in our saved offers. When I scrolled down and read the fine print, I realized I had a 15 digit PIN code for 20%, 30%, 40% attached to the email.

Check all your emails including your spam folder and read the fine print. Here's pixie dust for all! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Thanks for the great tips!! :thumbsup2 I just cleared my cookies and the next time an opportunity to chat with a Live CM pops up I will chat. I am also going to register my husband using his work e-mail.

Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping this works.

Thanks,
Kim:)
