Results of this weekend:

My son is a member of the Order of the Arrow and an Eagle Scout.

How this weekend happened:

On Friday he had to drive himself to the Order of the Arrow ordeal (his ride backed out at the last minute and it is 2 hours away.) After the ordeal (Sunday) he had to drive back home (alone again.)

He never drove that far before. He is 16 if any body is wondering.

Monday he meet with the Eagle Board. They were really impressed with his honesty and knowledge (we had problems with them earlier this month due to him being homeschooled.) They also could not get over how cheerful and energetic he was so soon after the oa ordeal.

mommytoe, your son sounds like a wonderful young man. :goodvibes

Congratulations on OA and Eagle Scout! :woohoo:

Why is he in meetings with the Eagle board IF he is already an Eagle?

Both my sons were in scouting from age 7 and both are Eagles. :yay:

Long story involving lost paper work and home schooling. All is well now so I want to forget the problems.

Umm, ok! But if your son is already an Eagle, as you state, I was curious as to why he is in meetings with the Eagle Board? Once he has successfully fulfilled all the requirements of an Eagle and meets with the Board and they collectively agree he has indeed fulfilled all the requirements they will tell him right there and then at the FINAL review that he has passed and is an Eagle.

Is he still waiting to hear from the members of the Board?

2 hrs isn't that far, but at 16 it can seem like forever. Congrats to your DS on doing the drive safely, his OA and his Eagle Scout designation. I hope all the issues are cleared up soon and he doesn't have to continue meetings with the board. BTW, DBF is an Eagle Scout. :)

Sorry if I seemed out if sorts. I am not just relieved that it is over. This has been going on all summer.
They lost his file so there was no record of him. Got that fixed. They lost his Eagle application before national signed it . Then they noticed he was home schooled and they tried causing problems due to that. All that is fixed now.

The Eagle application is going to national as we speak. There are witnesses that the Eagle board signed it. The homeschooling is no longer an issue with them.

He does not have to meet with the Eagle board again. In fact his Eagle ceremony is already scheduled by the Scoutmaster.
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Nobody knows why this has been so hard. Nobody has heard of other boys boys having all these problems. :confused3

Congratulations to your son!

DH is also an Eagle and OA :goodvibes and his brother is an Eagle as well.

His nephew became an Eagle a few years ago. His Dad was so proud to have both sons and his grandson as Eagle Scouts. His nephew was homeschooled from 4K through high school (he's in college now) and had no problems from that. I'm glad your son got his sorted out.

Enjoy his ceremony! There's a special part for the mom, recognizing her role in helping her son achieve this honor. :cheer2:
