I've read about vouchers on the boards often. What are they and where do you get them? We are booked on the 10 / 29 magic cruise and my DD and I might stay and go to the parks after the cruise. It will be her first trip and my second.

You can purchase vouchers from Hotwire Savings Club that allow prepaying, and often discounts on meals. They offer character breakfast certificates that prepay the meal, tax and gratuity, and at most meals would offer a good savings. Quick and Casual Vouchers allow a meal at counter service places. They cost $11.50 and give a drink, entree, side dish and dessert. The third is a Vacation Kingdom Lunch certificate. These prepay a drink, appetizer, entree, side and dessert. Those are pretty expensive, but if a family can share meals, it might be a good deal.

Another kind of voucher is sent to you if you purchase an annual (admission) pass in advance. You must take this voucher to Guest Relations at the park you are about to enter and obtain the annual pass itself (be sure to verify the expiration date as a year from the exchange date, or a year from the previous pass' expiration for discount renewals).

It is possible (I'm not sure) that in 2005 other kinds of admission tickets when purchased in advance will involve vouchers to be exchanged as above.

Yet another kind of voucher is issued by airlines for a discount on future air travel. You may get one if you volunteer to be bumped or if you ask the airline to price match itself when the fare for your trip goes lower after you bought your ticket.

I bought the breakfast and quick and casual lunch/dinner vouchers for our trip last month through hotwire. You can join for 30 days for free, I had no problems with them, and I would recommend them for purchasing the vouchers - I also bought our park tickets through them, but I don't know if you can do that anymore with the new ticket system. The breakfast vouchers worked out good. The best use for them is for CRT because it is the most expensive of the breakfast charachter meals. I also used them at Cape May Cafe and Chef Mickeys for breakfast. They didn't save me that much, but they have tax and tip included and are easy. However, when I used the quick and casual vouchers in the parks for lunch, I found that it really depends on the person taking the order on how they will be interpreted. At Pecos Bill they gave me an extra side because she didn't count the fries as a side, but at Columbia Harbor House, that server considered the fries a side. Also, I ordered double cheeseburgers and an extra bun so I could split it with my daughter, but some servers didn't know how to go about charging us for that, ect. My husband didn't like the quick and casual vouchers because he felt that they took to long to deal with and the cast members were often unsure how to handle them. I didn't mind too much, but if you like to have your meals pre-paid it is a good way to go.
