OK, stupid question I'm sure...
but I ordered a Disney planning video and about a week later in my email I got a promotion that says for me to mention a 3 letter code if I book during November (which was when I said I wanted to go).
It doesn't seem to give me much off the regular rates so I don't really think its one of those elusive PIN codes people talk about.
What kind of discounts are normally included when you get a PIN code?

3 letter codes are rack date promotional marketing.

Pins are 11 or 12 numbers long.

If I book using these codes & prices and then change to Free Dining when those offers come out, will the price for the room change? I'm assuming Yes.

The 3 digit code is not a discount, so if you book, it will be at rack rate. You have to pay rack rate for free dining, so it should stay the same. If you receive a real PIN for 30% off your room, for example, and you decide to switch to FD, then your room rate would change to full price. You can use one discount per reservation.
