Transfer fees are the charges that are applied to your trip to supply you transportation to and from the airport. They are around $45. We have always found our own transportation since it seems to be less expensive and we love having "our own" driver. Sometimes you have to wait for the bus to fill before they leave.

So this fee is unnecessary unless I want to use their transprotation to the dock?

Correct. Transfers are bus transportation from MCO to the port or to WDW. If you don't ride their bus, you don't pay for transfers (be sure you don't book em if you don't need em!)
