With Thanksgiving and Black Friday coming up, what are this year's hard to get toys? I remember a huge thread about Zhu Zhu Pets last year and who can forget Cabbage Patch dolls and Tickle Me Elmo?!? What's extra-hot and hard to find this Christmas?

I have a DS, but from some of my friends the Monster High dolls seem to be a tough find. I don't even know what they are though...just see posts on Facebook about it.

Monster High Dolls Spectra, Abbey, and now Toralei =)

Ditto. I have a ds, but from all my readings these are the hard to find toys . I really have not heard anything for boys that are hard to find that I can recall.

They are only hot if your child wants it and it can't be found. Ebay sellers will be sure to know.

I guess we will truely find out after Black Friday when everyone goes crazy shopping

I had a heck of a time finding the Angry Birds game by Mattel. MIL got one for me by her house. Now I want another one for our nephew.

Xia Xia pink crab (Turks) and habitats, silly hair Lalaloopsy dolls, Holly Sleigh Bells and Rosy Bumps N Bruises Lalaloopsy dolls, some of the Monster High dolls. I also think LeapPads will be hard to find closer to Christmas.

I picked a purple crab at my local Walmart and ordered Lalaloopsy Rosy Bumps N Bruises at TRU.com for $19.99 and free shipping.

As you can probably tell, I have girls. I have no idea what the hot toys for boys are this year, other than Xia Xia crabs and LeapPads.

I ordered a Leap pad two days ago (they had a deal that if you bought $75 worth of certain toys you got a free Gund teddy bear.) All of the green leap pads sold by Amazon (not an outside vendor) were gone so I went with the pink. Last night when I was checking on my order the pink ones were gone. I think the leap pads will become few and far between.

Yup, me too. And then I saw one on a shelf and bought it right away. The Lalaloopsy line has given me quite a search, between Holly Sleighbells, Rosy and Peanut, and now the littles. I've found everything my son and daughter wanted, though, mostly using online alerts and in store checkers. I even have it all wrapped and ready to go!!!

Without the online checkers, free shipping offers, and ship to store, I think finding things would be sooo mich harder.

I know nothing about these dolls, but I saw a bunch of the little Holly Sleighbells in the stocking stuffer section at Target. Hope this helps someone.

The Leappad is super hard to find right now. Yesterday we checked Amazon, ToysRUs (we had our pick up at store order cancelled for inventory discrepancy), Target, BestBuy, Walmart, Kmart, Barnes and Noble & Sams Club. Our local Walmarts have signs stating out of stock. Leapfrog's site only sells bundles on their website and the in-laws are making this purchase and are only wanting to purchase the $99 systems.

A couple of our local Targets may have some green ones today and if so, DH is going out shopping with his Mom. Hopefully, the manufacturer is prepared and has plenty to ship out to the retailers for the season.

The guy who sits next to me spent 1/2 his morning trying to locate a LeapPad Explorer yesterday.

All I can say is....don't believe what the web pages show as far as availability. I'm not saying that they are in the stores readily but he looked online at every store he could think of and all stores within 100 miles showed they were out of stock.

I told him not to call the big town stores, but the smaller surrounding towns. He wouldn't believe me that they actually had them in the store when the website showed out of stock.

I made 2 calls and found them. The Wal-Mart in a smaller town about 30 minutes out had them...and not just a few...when we went over lunch they had a HUGE upstock of them, plus about 10 on the shelves.

So...my point is...call the store itself, the website isn't always accurate.

Target has them in stock on line and in all the stores around me.

I didn't even know about the Angry Birds game...now to add another one to my list, I think my older dd would love this. Too bad it is out of stock everywhere online.

My parents went to Toys R Us last week to get my son a Leappad for his birthday on Saturday. They got one and the lady behind them bought 8 and the store only had 2 left after that. They went there after the price on the ones on Amazon went up and it was cheaper and had the extra game to go there. I am so glad I told them to go out and buy one then.

I found the angry birds game at Target. Just stumbled on it and it looked really cute. Under $20, too.

Meijer had the Angry Birds game on the endcap in the toy section. Our store had over 30 and they were $14.99 each. I picked up one for dd.

Is it the Angry Birds game called Knock on Wood? Has anyone played it yet? Looks fun!
