What are the rules with pets at the Fort?

Wow. The way I read the original post, the person was interested in knowing the rules. I assume if someone is interested in what the rules are, they intend on following them. I don't think it warrants everyone venting on their own displeasure with pet owners.

:confused3 I checked my thread today and was kind of confused as to what direction it took!

Personally, I intend to follow the rules as given. I can imagine that there are people out there, possibly lots of them, that don't follow the rules however.

Don't you just love "pet" topics. Guaranteed to get everyone worked up. As far as the "rules" go, one of the more rediculous ones is that you can't walk your pet out of the "pet loop." That means you must go round and round within your loop without enjoying some of the other areas that are nice to walk through. I wonder how you would get to the new dog park without exiting your loop? I don't post often but really enjoy pet topics. Cheers.....

In my experiences at FtW.... if the campground isn't booked to full capacity they try to limit pets to 300, 500, 700, 800 (preferred), 1600-1900 (full hook up/non-preferred). If they are booked to capacity then any loop is fair game for pets. A CM/loop attendant who has become a friend told me that no loop attendants or CM's are to approach a guest and ask them why they have a pet in a loop not intended for pets.... because as I said before... any loop is fair game when FtW is full.

That being said, someone who checks in at a full booking period with a pet and is assigned to say...loop 100, is not going to be made to change loops when FtW thins out.

Also, a good, kind, considerate camper will always clean up after themselves and their pets.:thumbsup2 No trash (or poop) left behind!:cutie:

The wonder beagle keeps a pretty close eye on me and never lets me leave my poop behind.

Oh, I'm sorry I didn't get your permission to post a reply to a thread. I'll be sure to remember that, and since when did I get off everyone's ignore list. I don't care about the pets as long as you look after them and keep them quiet. If your not going to enforce the rules then do away with them.

WOW!:scared1:

I should have taken over this thread by talking about beer and kungajuice instead of about the topic that was inquired on. Just sharing my most humble opinion:hug: . Sorry it is not shared by many on here:confused3 . Note to self: move to China. They get to share in lots of freedoms there!:thumbsup2 Then I won't have to upset the locals by sharing my opinion on a public forum.

ok everyone -- please keep this on topic. Posting opinions is fine, and everyone is entitled to them. But, please be sure you're not attacking another poster, or trying to start an argument.

Thank you!

No problems here, Rhonda!! The ignore option is a wonderful thing!!:thumbsup2

Wow Rhonda, someone doesn't understand what you mean!?!
Anyways, Yes, I know what you mean otter lady!:thumbsup2
It would be great if it worked in the "real" world. Then again, I think for most of you this is your real world!;)

To keep it on topic as Rhonda said..............according to a cast member in January they will soon do away with the pet loops, so it will just depend which cast member you ask on what day. And, they will move someone out of a non-pet loop if they have a pet. Just ask the people in the campsite across from us this past January.:lmao:

i'm new to disboards. heard about it from a friend. found this forum b/c i love to camp at fort wilderness. i personally haven't had any trouble with pets, but that's probably b/c i don't take one on vacation therefore i'm not in a pet loop. i haven't camped enough to notice any in a nonpet loop. from reading it seems that pet owners do what they want instead of following the rules. seems to me that is disney's fault AND the pet owner's fault. i do know this...most pet owners treat their pets better than their children. i think it's ridiculous how people seem to worship their pets, but fail to love their neighbor who happen to be HUMAN BEINGS! i really hope disney will keep the pet loops and start enforcing the rules, because what do the people who are allergic to some animals do? there isn't a kennel for people is there?!? it may be a type of discrimination??? well, i'm going to enjoy learning more things about disney, but i hope i don't learn to hate it. i think having an opinion is a wonderful freedom, but don't get personal!
