What are the Red Helicopters used for?

Whenever we stay at either BWV or BCV, I always see several red helicopters flying back and forth overhead. they appear to be going between the DTD area and MK. Does anyone know what these are used for?

There are a lot of sightseeing helicopters on 192. And of course news choppers.

I hate them, especially when I want some quiet at the quiet pool!

Now if a had a SAM 7 rocket launcher.....

Thats what I thought at first, but these are definately flying directly over WDW property and I was under the impression that this was restricted airspace.

I had heard from a CM at POR that the red helicopters are used for "bank" drops throughut the day. They travel from a helicopter pad to and from. The various parks and resorts usually do two bank drops a day.

but when you factor in 20+ resorts , 4 theme parks and DTD and West Side, they seem to be traveling all day.

A armoured vehicle picks up the $$$ and the various spots and drives to the helicopter pad for drop off / pick up.

Suposedly, the WDW headquarters is one of the helicopter launching pads. Another one is somewhere around AKL and the AS resorts.
