I am a spring 2011 hopeful and was wondering if there were any specific reasons for denial. I was asking just so I and others could avoid doing any of the things that could get us denied. Thanks...;)

Not using strong answers on your web interview is a big one.

Yea one of my boyfriends friends didn't use strongly disagree or strongly agree on the web portion and he was rejected. I would have never thought that would be a factor, but I'm glad he told us!

Just answer the web portion interview, and phone interview honestly. Be yourself, be energetic, and happy and all should go well. I've heard lots of theories on the web based interview... that if you use strongly agree or disagree you're out or if you don't use them you're out. Just answer how you'd answer those questions if a person we're asking you. That's what I did and didn't follow either of those theories and I got passed onto the phone interview.

I mixed up between strongly agree and just regular "agree" to not seem like I was full of it. I think they look for that because anyone that puts strongly agree or disagree for everything is clearly just phoning it in and not even looking at the questions. Throw in "neutral" if you're not sure if the answer should be "agree or disagree" because it makes it look like you are actually putting thought into your responses.

I've had many job applications in the past that require that web-based questionaire. I think it is purposely done to check consistency in your responses and make sure you aren't just making things up. If you notice when you answer the questions, many of them are the same question asked multiple times in different ways. It is just a test of patience to see if you take things seriously or if you are just throwing anything down to finish the interview.

I mean sure it won't actually deny you or get you denied but answering in strong answers gives the impression that you feel strongly about the question. So if you're just marking it will hurt you. But if you take your time answer honestly strongly agree/disagree you should never fail the web interview.

Yes, they are most definitely looking to see you're consistent with your answers. That's why I say answer honestly and be yourself.

Just be honest, consistent, and make sure to read the question thoroughly before you answer it in the WBI.

For the phone interview, you just have to sell yourself! Play up your accomplishments without bragging too much, keep smiling, and just relax and be happy. Fake the confidence if you don't have it.

I'm going to call out the "only strongly agree/disagree" too. It's a very basic idea that I think was taken out of context. Basically all you have to do is be consistent, and picking only the extremes of the ends is the easiest way.

My best advise is to be consistent, up-beat, and try to think of what Disney wants out of you. Yeah, you may get irritated with people asking a lot of questions, but I wouldn't let Disney know that because that looks rather bad.

It's no different than any other job interview. If you want the job you don't tell them that you get irritated when asked to do something out of your job description. Tell them that your goal is to keep the customers satisfied because realistically that is the idea of working for Disney. You have to keep the guests satisfied and enjoy their experience. Never confess that you have argued with customers in a past job over something or that you dislike working with other people because that is a sure way to guarantee not getting offered a role. Being optimistic and coming off as people friendly is a good way to present yourself. I had a friend once that didn't get hired at a Staples because they kept asking him if he has any dislikes and he said he hated cleaning bathrooms, and that literally cost him the entire interview. Just say you have no problem doing what you are asked to.
