I'm planning for a future trip would like to know of the options from Value to the mid Deluxes. Two adults, kids from 11 to 7. Price is definitely a consideration.

We stayed at POR on our last trip and loved it.

I did 2 connecting rooms at the Pop Century with my family of 5 a week ago and it worked out great! It was really nice to have 2 complete bathrooms and 4 beds. The price (with a discount code) worked out to be just about what one room at a MOD would have cost me.

Dear kewlby

You didn't specify the amount per night you were willing to pay or how many nights you were planning on staying. At first I was thinking you could rent points from a DVC owner like myself and staying in a villa. Then I realized that studios and 1 bedroom sleep only 4 and a 2 bedroom might be out of your range. Now I am thinking that the Poly might be the ticket and you could try for a annual pass discount. You really need to let us know a little more about your plans before we can help you.

Good Luck

Can I hi-jack to ask for my family of 5 as well?

We are doing a DCL 7-day in April 2009 and want to add on a WDW stay afterwards. We are complete WDW newbies. I would guess that we could stay 5 days max. I'm already blowing the budget on the cruise, and have my eyes set on the Poly (which I know will completely break the bank). What are my other options? Are the Swan and Dolphin about the same price?

My family of 5 are planning on staying at the Dolphin May '08. I debated between 2 rooms at the Pop or one at the Dolphin. I personally wanted the least stressful place and my DH wanted the quickest transportation to the parks. My understanding is the Dolphin covers both of these priorities better than the POP. I know we will be a little more crowded at the Dolphin but the beds are suppose to be great (which I love after a day at the park) and we do not spend a lot of time in the room.

Here is a little info about the Family Suites.

They:

-Sleep up to 6 (plus one child under age 3 in a Pak-n-Play crib)
-Studio amenities and separate sleeping areas giving more privacy than a standard room.
-Queen bed, full-size pullout sofa, convertible ottoman & chair sleepers (4 separate sleepers)
-Private master bedroom and family room have 27” flat CRT TV and high speed internet access.
-Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator (4.3 cu. ft) and coffee pot
-Two-full bathrooms

--------------------------------------------------------------
*** They are 520 square feet.

*** The Family suites are located in the Jazz and Calypso buildings at All Star Music.(these are the closet buildings to the food court and the bus stop.

*** They cost less than a standard room at AKL or WL.

***1-6 adults may stay in a suite for the same set price.
(There is an additional fee of $10 per night for a 3rd or 4th additional adult in a standard value room.)

*** They have a QUEEN size bed (the other values and even the mods do not have a queen bed.

***The fridge is included (if you booked 2 connecting value rooms you would need to pay $10 extra for a night for a fridge if you wanted one.

*** They come with a microwave and coffeepot (If you booked 2 connecting value rooms you would not even be be able to rent a microwave and coffeepot.

***They have 2 TV's (if you book POR or a Deluxe room which sleeps 5 you will have 1 TV)

***They have 2 bathrooms (if you book POR or a Deluxe room which sleeps 5 you will have 1 Bathroom.)

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.
