What are the Odds on a Wait List

Just wanted to see if anyone was lucky enough to get a stateroom they were wait listed for. We are going on the August 14th 2004 Western (I know a loooong way off), and we wanted a Secret Porthole room (we had originally had one and then changed our dates). There were none available for that sailing so we booked an inside Cat 10. The CM told us she would "wait list" us for one if it became available. Anybody have any luck with that ??

I see secret porthole room 5520 available NOW for your sailing, call DCL or your TA first thing in the morning and GRAB it! :) Availability changes all the time, especially for sailings as far in advance as yours, definitely CALL them and don't wait for them to call you.

Good luck! :)

Michelle,
YOU ARE THE BEST !!!! I called and we were able to get it- 5520 !! We had that room on our first Disney cruise- just awesome!! I can't THANK YOU enough !!!!:D :D :D

Michelle,
Which website did you use to see cabin availability? Most sites I've tried won't show any info that far in advance.
Thanks!

We're going to give wait-listing a shot for our May 24th Western. We booked it in January...usually I do everything a year or two in advance, but that cruise was a last-minute decision (we missed Grand Cayman on the Jan. 4 Western due to weather, so we cancelled our Oct. Wonder cruise and switched to 5/24 on the Magic to give it another shot). Of course the SPRs were long gone, so we booked a Cat. 11 (we want to stay budgetary, since it's replacing a 3-day). We're going to give the waitlist a try so I'll let everyone know how it goes...I figure that the most likely time that we might snare 5520 or 5020 is when final payment time rolls around.

Good Luck Barb,
I hope it works out for you. We have had the SPR's twice on the Magic and the Wonder and the location is just as good a reason to get one of these rooms as the "extra" of the porthole.

Secret portholes are Category 10, which is technically an inside stateroom. However, 5520,5522,5524,5020,5022,and5024 all have obstructed view portholes, resulting in a "free" view. But beware because the 22 and 24 cabins are connectors, which means more noise potential. I have photos on my website so you can see the obstructed view (which is not bad at all).
