What are the odds of getting Rose and Crown during Illuminations?

We are going to attempt it on Wed. Sept 5, 2018. My wife and I will be sitting at the computer when midnight hits 6 months before we go to be sure to have the best chance, but is it likely?

Also, when we do the ADRs do you have to do it on your comp, to get it in ASAP or does Disney have people on the phones doing it at 12AM? (Whole trip is Sept 3-10)

ADRs begin at 6 AM online and 7 AM on the phone.
If you book right away your chances of getting an ADR are good. However you can not request a patio table or Illuminations view table in advance. You can only do that at checkin and most everyone does. They no longer allow you to wait for a table with a view. You take first available or lose the ADR.
They do have a private patio for a standing view of Illuminations that you can be escorted to.
In all our trips we have gotten a table with a view about 30% of the time and I think that is good

Just booked Rose and Crown for perfect illuminations timing with less than 60 days to go so I would say it's very likely.

I'd be surprised if you had any issue grabbing one on the first try; I easily booked one last night for a trip that's just 3 months out.

I never plan Disney trips far enough in advance to do 180-day ADRs. Just a couple of days ago I was able to get an ADR for our trip at the beginning of December for 90-minutes before Illuminations - I always try for 90 to 75 minutes before. I have gotten it on multiple trips anywhere from 30-days to a couple of days before.

If you have a party of less than 4 people - put 4 in your search, not the actual number. More times will pop-up under this method - Disney uses an odd algorithm where it will not automatically give a party of 2 a 4-top table, when in all likelihood it is where they would be seated in-person anyway. You can go back in and modify the reservation to the actual number in your party. Same with odd numbers - just bump your group up by 1 in the search.

This is how I snagged an ADR for R&C a few days ago - putting in 2 was yielding me no results. Changing it to 4, popped up the perfect time.

Keep in mind that the last seating is usually an hour before the show. I made myself crazy with that - at about 7:15 on my 180, I couldn't get the 8:30 I wanted... Because (duh! should have looked at the hours) they close at 8 when the show is at 9. So the time I "settled for" is actually the last seating of the night.

I have a reservation at 7:20 with the show starting at 9:30 so I am hoping for the best and getting a table that we can watch from and that they don't kick us out.

Two hours before? Better order drink after drink to stick around.

We just booked for our Spring Break trip and did not have any trouble getting a reservation at Rose and Crown a little after 7.

Oh right, is it Fastpasses that start at 7 am online?? It would be helpful if they made it consistent. For me at least. Lol.

I do think they just start 1 hour later on the phone than online though (6 am online, 7 am phone).
