For the Western as far as family activities, games, shows, etc for first time Disney cruisers?

Definately, the show that the kids do at the end of the cruise. You get to see your child on stage as well as pictures of the children in the clubs during the cruise. Very sweet::yes::

My answer would be don't miss anything. You will likely get a lecture from the cruise director to take advantage of everything you can, and rest-up when you get home. Every event-show-activity onboard is exceptional, right down to the ice sculpture carving. There truly is something for everyone, you will enjoy the trip!

If possible, you should skip sleep for the week. There is a lot of really fun activities going on all day (well maybe not from 2am to 7am).

Things that I think are "not to miss"
>The shows in the Walt Disney Theater
>The "cabarette" shows that are between the dinner seating times (family) and the "adults only" show at about 10:15 or 10:30.
>Dinners in the dinning rooms - make that your family get to gether time
>Art of Entertaining: the cooking demos, towel and napkin folding, galley tour, Ice sculpture carving demo.
>The Navigator series about the making of the Magic and other interesting topics
>Relaxing (ok, when is there time for that:smooth: ) on the comfy blue loungers on deck 4
>Sail away parties
>The game shows: Walk the Plank, Mickey Mania in Studio Sea
>Don't miss getting off of the ship in each port and walking around a little - so that at least you can say that you've been there.
>Tip your waitstaff and room steward - they've been working hard for you all week
>Take the stairs not the lifts (elevators). The lifts are mostly for decoration (and the unsupervised kids use them as a "ride"). The stairways have Disney art in them. Each stairway has something different. You can usually get to the deck you want faster by using the stairs. An added benefit - you will have more room for desserts if you take the stairs.
>Enjoy the desserts - they are nummy!
>Be adventurous with your dinner selections. Be brave, try something you've never tried before (I found a couple of fish dishes that were wonderful - and I don't like fish at all! If you don't like your first choice, your server will bring you a second (or third if necessary). You wouldn't do that at a nice restaurant at home - it would cost to much.
>Play ping pong on deck 9 while the ship is sailing - its do-able but challenging.

I like the cooking demonstations - live cooking show in Studio Sea. The experts make it all look so easy. The wine expert comes on at the end and recommends a wine to pair with the cooking. Everyone gets a taste and sip (about 1/4 glass) afterwards.

70's night is a lot of fun.
See Rich Pupura if he is onboard, he is very funny. We have seen him on two cruises and enjoy him a lot.

The shows for sure, we have seen them several times and they are just great! This goes for the caberet shows too!
DH and I love the wine tasting so that is a don't miss for us. The great thing about Disney is you can do as much or as little as you want!

My favorite things not to miss:

Disney Dreams (the best!)
Art of Entertaining
Rich Purpura (hilarious!)

There are so many fun things to do on this cruise! I hope you have a great time!

We had a great time making a gingerbread house together and kept in the room all week as our Christmas decoration. We left it for our room steward and he seemed appreciative but some people actually took them home. We thought we might not get past customs since it is a food item! If you are Disney nut - DO NOT MISS the farewell in the atrium the last nite. You will have a great time - we love to vacation at Christmas It relieves the stress!!!

- I love Rockin Bar D - dancing to the theme night songs!!
-Caberet acts in the Adult performances
-visiting all the port beaches!!
-lounging in the Adult Quiet Cove pool!
-my new fave is the Rainforest pass....ooooooohhhhh baby!
-CC will always be tops (konk koolers!!)
-pool games are fun as well
-the cleanliness of the ship!!

Have a great cruise!!!
