What are the must-dos for a 1st timer?

Walk through Cinderella castle,
See turtle talk with Crush,
Do the AK safari early in the morning, when animals are active,
Meet Aladdin in Morrocco in Epcot(or other face characters,)
See Philharmagic,
Do the Haunted Mansion at night,
Watch MK fireworks,
Get ice cream sundaes at the Plaza ice cream shop and find a table near Casey's or sit on the walkways to Tommorrowland,
Eat a chicken waffle sandwich from Sleepy Hollow,
Eat Kaki Gori in the garden in Japan Epcot,
Take a nap in Ellen's Energy Adventure and recharge,
Carousel of Progress (same idea as above...and you learn a new song!)
Take the frienship boats from MK to the Poly and get a cocktail and sit on the beach....that is all I can think of for really magical in these days of micro managing vacation at Disney.

i literally lol for the nap of Ellen's ride, but have to strongly disagree with the Carouself of progress.....love it and looking forward, it's such a true Disney classic.

That's also a struggle for me, too! Took my husband in May, and it was his first time there in about 10 years. I can't stand waiting in line for Fantasyland rides, so I basically rushed us through all of those, and slowed down after that. I'm biased anyway and think that the nighttime view of the castle easily trumps the daytime view!

I also refrained from overwhelming him with a ton of table services (we skipped the dining plan) and prioritized things he loved when he was younger, along with newer things I knew we would both enjoy. I think it's easier to create a "must-do" list based on your preferences rather than the general "top rated" things. I would never put the carousel of progress on my must dos, but it was one of his favorites as a kid, so it got added to the list.
