ok, ok. After reading several different boards, I am trying to compose a list of must things to do @ WDW. We are going in mid July :sunny: for 5 night (Sun-Fri), I rented points and we are staying at the BCV. Our plan is to get up early hit the parks and come back in the afternoon and nap (2-DS ages 3 (just turning) and 5 1/2 (almost 6). And of course my hubby & I . Both my hubby and I went when we were kids about 20 years ago, and frankly neither one of us remember much at all. Anyway, we plan on coming back and enjoying SAB and napping, then going back after dinner. I am afraid with only being there for 5 1/2 days that we will miss a lot. Any ideas on what is things we must do. Also, we plan on eating breakfast in the room, catching something fast for lunch and doing a sit down for dinner. Keep in mind my kids ages. I already have the Lion Kings Show, 50' Primetime Cafe (dinner) and few others. Please help, I am already getting over whelmed.....

Thanks everyone. :Pinkbounc

You MUST do the Safari at Animal Kingdom, The Living Seas at Epcot, The Magic of Disney Animation at MGM, and Wishes at Magic Kingdom to name a very few of the must do's...

First of all, relax! Even with 10 days you will not see everything. Making your list is a great way of doing it. If you do not get thru everything on your list, you just have to go back!

My must do for you and your family is the water parade. You can see it from the Poly, GF, and Contemporary. Your children will love it. We are planning to watch it from the beach at the Poly after the fireworks show. What a great way to end the day and avoid major crowds!

Here is a link to give you a bit of info about it:

Just returned - must sees:

1. SOARIN' -- do not miss this even if you have to wait a long time - should use fastpass

2. Turtle Talk with Crush - in the Living Seas - very amusing.

3. PUSH -- I don't even know how to describe this - it is over near Space Mt area...betw there and the race car attraction to the left near a store...it is a garbage can that can move and it talks to those visitors in the vicinity - hilarious.

4. Of course the SpectroMagic Parade, Wishes and Illuminations are all must sees.

Those are just a few -- hope you have a great time.

Here would be my list for you:
MK: Definitely go a morning that is EMH. Get there right when the park opens. You will be able to do all of Fantasyland with no wait. And with kids that are 6 and 3, this is a must do. Maybe skip Snow White - could be a little scary. Don't miss Pooh, Peter Pan, Dumbo or Mickey's Philharmagic. That morning, skip breakfast in your villa and make a PS for Crystal Palace for a late breakfast or early lunch. It will be worth it!! Then head over to Toon Town for some great meet and greets with all the characters. Other must dos for your family at MK are Buzz, Jungle Cruise, TTA (a good way to relax!!), Aladin's (sp?) Magic Carpets, and whatever you do, don't miss Wishes!! It's incredible!!

Epcot: Living Seas and Illuminations

MGM: Playhouse Disney show, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast. For Mom and Dad - do the child swap and don't miss Tower of Terror! It's wonderful! And at 50's Prime Time Cafe, the smores are to die for!!

AK: Kilamanjaro Safari, Festival of the Lion King and the kids will probably enjoy Rafiki's Planet Watch. Tarzan is fun, too, but a little loud.

Don't get overwhelmed!! You won't see everything, that just gives you an excuse to come back. Your family will love the BCV and SAB! Eat at Beaches and Cream and the Cape May Breakfast. Have fun planning!!!

I am not an expert, what do you want to do ? What is you traveling ages and such?

OMG! Reading this thread has made me so excited for our trip in 46 days! Thanks, all, for some suggestions I wouldn't have known about (Turtle Talk, Push...)
Have a magical day!

I don't know much about your kid must do's (no kids) but adult must rides are Tower of Terror, Aerosmith Ride, and the Indian Jones Stunt Show at MGM. At Epcot, Soarin, Mission Space, Test Ride, Living Seas, and Body Wars (is that still there? lol) at Epcot. At Magic Kingdom, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, and the Haunted Mansion. At the AK, Dinosaur, the Safari, and Kali River Rapids. Have a blast!

Hello!! Welcome aboard!!

I hate pop ups!!

My favorite thing to do at each Disney trip is a character meal! We usually do a breakfast at Chef Mickey's in the contemporary or Crystal Palace in MK. It sounds a little pricey, but it will be worth it... especially with kids, the characters come to each table for pictures. In the parks you sometimes have to wait in line to see a character...If you're looking for good counter service lunches:

MK-Pecos Bill (Frontierland), Pinnochio's Village Haus (Fantasyland)
EPCOT- My fave is actually the American Adventure- love the turkey sandwich on an everything bagel!
AK- Flame Tree BBQ

You probably only need a day (maybe not even) for AK...Definitely see the Lion King Show, and IT's Tough to be a Bug (3D in the Tree of Life), Kilimajaro Safari, and the little boardwalk ride type area near Dinoland...forget the name, but my nephew loved it there. Dinosaur is fun, might be too scary for little kids (very dark and dinos can look real to them)

EPCOT- As a kid (and even now as an adult!) I find EPCOT to be a little boring. Test Track in fun, and The Living Seas is cool for kids...I like walking through the countries, but that could be boring for the kids. Illuminations is awesome!

MK- Like I said everyone will love Fantasyland, and also check out the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, WDW Railroad, and definitely the Toon Town Fair.

I'm so jealous, I'm not going back till next May! Have a great time!!!

Don't forget to ride in the front of the Monarail once on your trip. Just ask the cast member when you get to the plate form. You can fit up to four people and it is a great view and kids love it.

as you can see from all the post, almost everything is a must do for someone so you will really have to try and plan what you think your family will like. this is really hard. i have been writing some notes on the attractions for some friends of mine (two different families) who are going for the first time. i made a must do list but i told them that this is just my opinion and i know they will do something i suggested and go "whats the big deal" and then they will do something not on my list and go "WOW what a great ride". so just look the description of the rides and pick what you think is best. on the bright side, there are no bad rides at wdw. oh yea, just my 2 cents, #1 must do's are meet some characters, parades, and fireworks. disney is best at fireworks and parades in the whole world.
have a great trip,

The absolute must do at WDW is to HAVE FUN and don't feel like you are going to need a vacation to recover from your vacation

Have a great time

A BIG must do for our family and a nice way to relax for the parents is playing in the fountains at EPCOT! It is a great way to let your kids run wild (so to speak) and for you and hubby to sit and relax for a few moments and enjoy watching your children. We love doing this! Just remember to bring a change of clothes and a towel!
The biggest thing is RELAX!!! I have been to WDW many times and still have not seen EVERYTHING! There will always be something you read about when you get home and say oh I wanted to do that!

At MK I wouldn't miss Wishes, Mickey's Philharmagic, Pater Pan, Tommowland Transit Authority, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, a train ride, and a stroll through the shops on Main Street.
At Epcot I'd take in Soarin', Test Track, the boat ride in the Land, and all the Kidcot Stations in the countries. I'd also get a good seat for Illuminations.
At MGM, I love ToT and RnR. The great movie ride is also fun. I loved Walt Disney One Man's Dream.
The safari at AK is great too. So are the walking trails.
I could probably spend several hours riding the monorail, too.

This is really the only major "must do" for everyone. You'll find your own must-dos. I've been to WDW over 20 times, seen Fantasmic twice, and have no desire to see it again, nor do I regret all the many times I went to WDW and didn't see it. However, I can't imagine going to WDW and missing "Illuminations". That for me is definitely a must-do. But I bet there are some people out there going "I saw Illuminations once. What's the big deal?" So everyone has their own must-dos. But everyone MUST have fun and enjoy their vacation.
