What are the good Buys??????

We have been several times and have brought everything from cowboy boots to DVD's in the past.So much stuff has gone down in price over here. (example Jeans from ASDA £3.99) I was wondering what people still view as real bargains in the states.
any suggestions will be viewed with interest as we are itching to hit the shops this August

Tiffany's stuff
Jimmy Choo stuff (which is a suprise, because it's a British company)
LVMH and Chanel stuff appears to be more expensive than here (although there are some cheap TAG watches at Premium Outlets)

Anything that costs the same or smaller number in dollars as it does in pounds is going to be a bargain regardless of the exchange rate.

we always go there first thing on the first day as we are normally up about 5AM becausde of the jet lag and they are open 24/7

xmas deccies from walmart, cameras,gameboy, gameboy games from walmart,
camcorder tapes and bag from walmart, toiletries from walmart.etc etc etc! everything is so much cheaper in walmart.
oh and suntan lotion, sunglasses shampoo, souvenirs,i could go on and on!
in country clutter i buy my resin boyd bears that i collect, as they are so much cheaper than here.

Actually we didn't see a Wal-Mart when we were there. Well, we saw one -- just south of Disney near the Osceola Parkway but they didn't seem to have finished building it.

Got plenty of bargains in Publix and SuperTarget (up by the Mall at Millenia) though.

Ralph Lauren shirts $49, Skechers shoes $50 most Timberland shoes are much cheaper, Nike trainers.....I found recently that whatever we pay in pounds costs dollars over there and when I was there a few weeks ago we were getting £1 to $1.86 which made it very good vale.

Most US brands will be considerably cheaper, things like Oakley sunglasses - I bought a couple of pairs that were around $130 each, they were £130 each in the UK.
The factory sports stores are very good also, the Nike one in Kissimmee on the 192 is excellent, I paid $30 for a pair that were £70 over here.

So just go for the US brands and you will save a fortune.

I really like the silk shirts you can buy, usually from the Tommy Bahama store in the Florida or Mall at Millenia Malls - not everybodys cup of tea I know but great value for money.

My wife likes the Fossil store at Universal, or ANY store that sells handbags for that matter
The surf shops such as Quiet Flight at Universal are also much cheaper than over here and do great clothing for kids too, we always buy a few things for our little boy here.

The Factory stores can be a bit hit and miss, sometimes you find bargains and other times you dont.

My Wife works at Asda's in the UK, so we naturally tried Walmart.

The one referred to along SR535 opened a few weeks back. It kinds of supercedes the one along US192 East near Medieval Times. However, the best one I found was along Kirkman Road on the way to the Florida Mall.

Comparing against UK prices, DVDs were more expensive (and Region 1 remember). Blank media, etc was cheaper, as were clothes.

Of course the discount outlets such as Nike, were also cheaper.

If only we could also import the petrol. Was $1.99 per gallon.

I actually brought some oakleys the other day (for my hols) my son came to me and said very sarcasticly ' why can't you wait till we go on holiday they'll be cheaper there lovely child!

Don't know the iPod Mini prices offhand. There's an Apple Store in the Mall at Millenia.

I was looking out for an iPod. You can save about £20 on UK prices, but remember that the plug with be a US one. This means you'll need to buy a convertor for about £15, so overall, the savings will be small.

Although the Shuffles don't come with mains adapters anyway, so they're no different to the UK ones. But I believe the UK-spec iPods of all flavours are volume-limited due to regulations about causing hearing damage.

Furthermore, if you do end up with a US charger you'll find that the US plug bit plugs into a little figure-of-eight Telefunken socket on the charger. You just need a lead with that plug on the end -- it's the same as the one they use to power portable radios and laptops.

we got the photo I pod which is great
all we used is the adapter for an usa plug
but we mostly charge it up from the laptop
no need for the £15 convertor

Yes, the SR535 Walmart opened on Memorial Weekend. Bigger than the US192 Walmart, but not much change as regards availability of stock.
