Hi everyone! We are leaving next week with the deluxe dining plan.
Trying to get outfits together and would like to know out of the following signature restaurants, which are the fanciest and which are more casual?
TIA! :)

Artist Point
Nacrosses
Jiko
Hollywood Brown Derby
Yachtsman

Of the ones you have listed, none of them are terribly fancy, but Brown Derby is more casual than the others (since it is in a park, not a resort).

For all of them: Not permitted are bathing suits, bathing suit cover-ups, cut offs, torn clothes, tank tops on men, t-shirts with offensive pics or wording.
Everything else is acceptable.

While all of the previous posters are correct, as a woman I think I know what you're getting at. ;)

So, you are dining at 5 nice places, so bringing 5 "nicer" outfits to wear to your dinners. Perhaps one of those outfits is a knockout dress and high heels, and one of the others is a really nice pair of capris and flats....which one do you wear to which place? Here's what I do, though of course, as mentioned, all are fine at each place:

Since we always stay at the Polynesian and have a rental car, we would be driving to Jiko, so I would wear the killer dress and high heels there (less walking--you might want to think about your transportation when planning outfits). It's also probably the one with the least casual atmosphere/theme, IMHO. As mentioned upthread, Brown Derby is in the park, so is the most casual by definition and I wouldn't wear anything very special there--pretty much your "least" fancy outfit.

Hmmm, after that I would say that Narcoossees and Yachtsman are about the same level of outfit (for me) though Narcoossees edges up a wee bit (but then, I don't care for Yachtsman and don't go there often, could be coloring my perception) and Artist Point (while quite lovely and yummy!) is in a more casual-themed resort (and we would be taking the boat there) so I would say a middle-fancy/casual outfit for dining there.

To make it more plain, I will rank them in order of how casual/fancy I would dress for each place, with 1 being "fanciest" and 5 being most casual:

1-Jiko
2-Narcoossees
3-Artist Point
4-Yachtsman
5-Brown Derby

Hope this helps! :goodvibes But remember, as everyone else said, your nicer outfits will be fine in any of them, of course. Think about transportation, and what you will be doing before and after each meal, etc and wear whatever you are comfortable in that isn't against the dress code.

As a guy, I will concur with the order of your list. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much!!! :goodvibes This was exactly what I was looking for!

I think the nice pair of capris, a nice lightweight knit tshirt and flats are suitable for all those restaurants. I wouldn't bring a killer dress and heels to anything except Victoria and Albert's.

But if you want to, go for it. ;)

You know I am a really casual gal in my daily life, but I do love getting all fancied up in a knockout dress and heels once in awhile--I like to keep my husband guessing! LOL "Date night" in WDW is a perfect time for that kind of fun. :lovestruc

But you are most definitely right: capris, a nicer shirt and flats is fine at any of those restaurants. :thumbsup2

(and really, I was just using the example of "knockout dress and high heels" as an example. I wear skirts and dresses almost all the time, heels not so much, teehee)

I agree with the above list, but have a question. I'm staying at AKL in May and have the Wayana Sunset Safari booked. It includes a family style dinner with wines at Jiko, as soon as it is over. No way am I wearing a dress and heels to climb in and out of that big truck.:rotfl: What would you wear? What's appropriate for a hot, dusty, safari followed immediately by a nice dinner at Jiko.:rotfl:

Now see, this is exactly why all Disney restaurants are fairly casual (in their dress codes) versus similar fine dining restaurants in the real world, LOL! They know we are often coming and going and on the move from one activity or the other. :goodvibes Oh, and not to worry the safari truck has stairs! If I was going on the safari before dinner I wouldn't wear the killer dress and heels, because it would be a different kind of day for us, not a fancy dinner date kind of day, you know? I would go with the theme and maybe wear some nice khaki capris...or, I actually might wear a short above the knee skirt, but I wear them all the time to the parks and everything anyway so it's not a "special" outfit necesarily (I prefer them to shorts most of the time). I wouldn't do sky-high heels on this day though, I would probably wear some kind of flat sandal or wedge type heel. Don't worry you will not be out of place once you get to Jiko at all. The great thing about Disney signatures is that you can dress up and have fun with it, or dress casually and it's all good too. :thumbsup2

Enjoy the safari!
