Is there a web site that I can look on for pricing and location? I am assuming that the lower the catagory number the more expensive the room. Am I correct?

Yes, that is correct.
The Cat. 11 and 12 staterooms are identical, except for location.
Staterooms from 10 through 5 are identical (main difference between these and a Cat. 11/12 is that they have a "split bathroom" with toilet and sink in one part and toilet & shower/tub in the other). Only difference between 10 thru 5 is a porthole, verandah, or lack of one. Cat. 4s have a verandah and are a little longer. Cats. 3, 2, and 1 are suites that come with concierge service.

Visit the Platinum Castaway Club at: www.castawayclub.com

See Stateroom Descriptions.

On that page, click on the various kinds of staterooms for descriptions and diagrams, as well as what category or categories correspond to each type stateroom. For example, a "Deluxe Stateroom with Verandah" is sold as category 5 and 6, with category 5 being on a higher deck.

And I'll address the part of your question about the prices -

You can compare prices from DCL by going to their online Quote System. Here's a link to it:
DCL Website

The prices will vary according to the week that you choose. The prices for categories 1 to 3 are pretty much set and only vary by date. The other categories have price promotions on occasion. The current special is called 'Springtime Magic' and it's explained by following an icon on the home page of the DCL site.

It's possible to get lower prices from some of the Travel Agents. Dreams Unlimited Travel is one that sponsors these boards and they often have rebate offers.

i think i would amend that list posted by Dave...

i'd say cat 3 - "you've got to be nuts" expensive...
cat 2 - "now we know you're nuts" expensive....
cat 1 - "how are they letting you out of the funny farm for the cruise" expensive...

does that help :D

and having said that, i'll confess tha we're booked on cat 3 and wait-listed for 2 and 1...

(i'm expecting the commitment papers any day now)......

Thanks everyone! Now let's see, if I could just get my DH to agree.....
