What are the dates for the WDW Marathon in January?

Please forgive me for asking in case this has been talked about before, but what are the dates for the Marathon next yeat? I was thinking about booking a Winter Magic Package for 1/05/04-1/10/04 until I read that the Marathon is usually the first weekend in January and can draw 20,000 runners & families and does affect crowd conditions. Any information will be very helpful!

The marathon is on Sunday, January 11th. It starts very early in the morning. We are actually participating in the half marathon this year but have been to WDW the last few years at this time and were not participating. I don't think you will have any problems with crowds, it is a great time of the year to go. The only problems we have had are these: one year the hotel (CSR) ran out of hot water in the morning from all the marathoners showering and the second problem was last year we had a PS for Cinderella's Castle breakfast first thing in the morning and had a very hard time getting to the castle because all the walkways were roped off for the runners. Other than that, we have had no problems with crowds. It is a great itme of the year to go, just bring warm clothes. It can be quite cool in the mornings (in the 30's last year!). Have a great time.
