What are the crowds like mid-October?

I am planning a trip for next October. We'll be in Anaheim the 13 - 18. It looks like the crowds are pretty heavy right now is that normal or is it because of the new cars land?

I'm hoping I picked a slower time of year to go, but I'm starting to second guess my choice.

Oct on the weekends will be a madhouse no matter what. Halloween time has become quite popular. During the week, probably not so bad, but I would love to hear what others have experienced. :)

Are Sundays bad or do they clear out in the evenings so the locals can get their kids to bed for Monday morning school?

What about the Monday night Halloween parties?

Oct 15 MHP is sold out, so there will definitely be crowds that night.

All I can tell is you is our pre-carsland experience last October. We went Monday through Friday, week before Halloween last year. Monday-Wednesday were amazing, short waits everywhere. Thursday was busier, and Friday busier still. We loved it so much we are headed down again midweek in just over a week.

We'll be there starting tomorrow as well until the 19th and we also thought it would be a not so crowdy time but it looks like it might be busy!

At this time, as I said on other threads, I believe slow time at Disneyland are a rare thing. So let's just enjoy the moment and have fun for after all, you're at Disneyland!

You will hit some school district's "Fall break" I don't think it is going to be slow.

We were there that same time last year. It was more crowded than it was the three years before when we went at the same time. Guessing it will be even more crowded this year since there just doesn't seem to be a slow period this fall.

Also, You just happened to pick the same week that Utah schools are on Fall break (well technically not until the 18-19 but lots of families pull their kids out for the full week). It's called UEA which really stands for Utah Education Association (teacher's association meetings). But people call it Utahns Entering Anaheim for a reason.

The Schools in all of Utah are out Oct 18 and 19. I am sure it will be very busy those days and weekend.

I just checked hotel availability for the coming week on Expedia (just for fun, have the DLH booked). Very limited onsite availability, nothing at PPH. And the Hojo was $205!!! For a Howard Johnson, that's crazy. I think it will be a very crowded week.

We will be arriving next Saturday (the 20th) and staying through the 24th....and we are starting to brace ourselves for crowds! Luckily, no kids in our travelling group...and we are going to WDW in December...so if we aren't able to do everything we want, it will be alright :)

Hope you have an amazing trip!

All elementary and intermediate schools in the Salt Lake City School District are out next Wednesday too (Oct. 17-19). We actually timed our trip last year to go the Sunday through Wednesday of UEA weekend specifically to miss the Utah invasion later in the week (and it was totally worth the sacrifice of the kids missing 2 days of school). :thumbsup2

"Utahns Entering Anaheim ":rotfl2: I have never heard that before.

So I'm wondering if there is a good week to go in October or if they are all pretty much busy now.

My husband doesn't care for crowds too much and this will be our first trip to Disneyland and I'm hoping it's not our last:)

We have been really lucky in Florida when we have been and the crowds have been great. So I am affraid he will compare it to that and not let us go again.

I guess it could be worst at least he's still a WDW fan pixiedust:

If you don't like crowds, this YEAR probably isn't the year to go. Doesn't really sound like there will be a slow down anytime soon. Maybe January?
