What are the crowds like in March?

Our kids spring break is the last week in March. How bad is it at WDW then?
I have only been during December and I love it so much I hate the thought of missing the decorations.
But, we are tentatively planning a vacation with friends and they want to go at Spring break.

Any help?

well its also cheerleading competition
A friend, her daughter and I just booked airfare for March 24-31. That first wknd is a cheerleading competition.
Its gonna be super duper busy but its when they'll be going anyways. This is an extra trip for me. Just came back from 2wks Aug 13-27 and will be back again next Aug 12-26 so if we cant leave the Wilderness Lodge thats ok too.

We went in March 2004 but in the middle of the month and even though there were cheerleading competitions going on it really wasn't to bad in the parks. We just got up early and got to the parks when they first opened, used fast passes and got to do everything we wanted to do and then some..we enjoy going in March, I like the weather so much better in March then in the summer months...we are in fact going again in March 2006..

Oh boy...Cheerleaders! Don't get me wrong, they have just as much right to be there as us. I just remember some posts about a year ago about people having trouble with them. But, if I remember it was because they were staying onsite. We would not be...so maybe it will be okay.


vfb2girls---will you be going later in March?

We are planning on that right now, but we are going with friends and have to iron out the plans.
Hopefully, we will be going then. I wanted to go at Thanksgiving time, but we just can't get away then.

Actually we are going March 7 through the 17th. Back in 2004 we had some cheerleading teams stay at CBR and honesty we never knew they were around. In fact we would run in to some of them and they would reconize myself and husband and stop and talk to us. So I wouldn't worry about the cheerleaders or the crowds after all you are at Disney, it doesn't get much better then that!

Last year Easter was late March, so the parks were much more crowded. (More schools have Spring Break around Easter than at any other time). The cheerleaders were there when we were, but not at our hotel. Everyone once in a while you ran into a large group of girls at the park, but it was never a problem.

Newholidayx2, can you tell me what the name of the cheerleading competition is, the weekend of March 24, 2006?? My daughter's hs cheerleading team received a bid to nationals and this is the weekend that her coach wants to compete, but I can't find any competitions in WDW through google for that weekend........
