What are the concierge advantages

Just wanted to add my two cents, when we stay at the Willderness concierge, they were not very helpful, I found that the front desk Cm were much more helpful and friendly.

Within that resort, they also have tables set aside each evening. While the lobby can't get you into a sold out 1900 Park Faire dinner, a concierge CM will be able to do that for a GF guest.

Funny you should menition that we tried to get PS there and had the concierge do the PS for us at 1900 Park Faire, they checked for us and told us they couldn't, they didn't ask us if we wanted them to keep trying, this was at the beginning of the week that we were there, and we wanted the PS for our fourth day or so, I think they cold have offered. So we went down to to Guest services downstairs in the lobby and they were able to book it for us. Maybe a window opened from that 5 mintues, but than again I was told that concuerge are able to get tables that regular guest services can't.

Another time we asked about bus services to Downtown Disney and they told us, that the services for Downtown Disney wasn't until after 4, well we ignored them and tried and there were bus services to Downtown Disney at 11 am or so.

We also specifcally asked if what restaurants would be serving Turkey dinner for Christmas, and we made sure with them a couple times when we got there, we were told that they didn't offer Christmas dinner. So we did christmas without turkey.

There was also other small problems, but I personally wouldn't do it again. People said you pay for the services and we certainly didn't get that. Wrong information, couldn't get our PS, unfriendly, uninformative and etc etc.

We do love the Willderness though and would stay there again.

I know it is possible for the concierge to log into the PS system and find availability when it says there is none. On a few occasions we have asked to eat somewhere and at first it says there is nothing for the entire day and when they do a different search they can (sometimes) find availability for concierge guests only. Even then there is a limited amount but it does happen. So far we have never not been able to eat where we want to and we almost never do any arrangements before we arrive at the resort. It is good to do it ahead of time to be safe but than again we would not get that upset if we could not eat somewhere. There are plenty of places for us to eat at WDW.

IMO, it will NEVER be "worth it"...That's not to say it isn't a great choice for many folks. The service and pampering are very nice but to quantify "what you get" in terms of $ isn't going to pan out.

. The GF has 2 levels of concierge, the main building (RPC) and the lodge. The lodge has a few less amenities like, no alcohol and the lounge closes up earlier. QUOTE]

Actually SugarLoaf started serving alcohol in July.

Yes, that's what I'm wondering! We have reservations for SL Nov 29-Dec 6. If it's true, we're getting quite a deal!

Oh, Cris, I wasn't implying that I didn't believe you! I'm so sorry if that's how it came across! I'm just so flabergasted and surprised and HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SL will be quite a deal with essentially the same offerings as RPC at a significant discount!

We wanted RPC too, but it's not available for our entire trip. so we *settled* on SL. I was happy, but a little disappointed I couldn't get a drink or dessert. Well, now I'm doing the Happy Dance! I would still love the main bldg (for the ambience and view), but for the price difference I don't think I'll mind!

Triplefigs - For price difference & the change of offerings I think you made out just fine! We are going w/ our twins, 1st trip, so we wanted a comfort zone for naps, snacks....Im sure you can relate! Have fun on your well deserved vacay, our friends had triplets & I know how busy they are
