I'm back! We did stay at the Carousel and while they were unable to book us a 1br suite, we were given a king bed "club" room. It was further back in the 2 story portion of the hotel, rm 226.
The rooms are now hard wood floors, a change from 2 years ago when we were there. We had a comfy down comforter, a leather loveseat that opened to a second bed, and they supplied robes and slippers. The bathroom was tiled in granite tile and had one of those bowed shower curtain rods for extra room (made by Kohler, we have them in our house!).
The only complaints I had were these. The toilet paper roll holder had come out of the wall part so every time your knee hit it (which was a lot, it was in the perfect spot) it would fall and clang noisily on the floor. We finally took it off and hung it over the doorknob to the bathroom. Additionally, the a/c unit was LOUD! Even turned on low, it woke me up once every hour or so at night, and didn't have a thermostat on it to turn it off and on automatically. I know I could have turned it off, but my husband is a naturally hot person and would have died without it. I spent the weekend sleeping with pillows over my head.
Aside from that, the counter staff was amazing (Chris Fields checked us in and out and was more than accomodating in my requests for room changes), they printed our boading passes for us free of charge, and it was quiet. Though the hotel was booked full for most of the weekend, I can honestly say I only ever heard one toilet flush noise and no other sounds for the rest of the weekend.
I'd give it a 4 out of 5, just because of the noisy A/C. It didn't bother my husband at all though, so he'd probably give it more of a 4.5.
I did keep my luggage locked up whenever we left the room. Husband did not and had all this things unpacked and in the drawers of the dresser. Everything was fine, including is ipod and noise cancelling headphones.
Hope that helps somebody! I can include pictures when I'm not exhausted.
