So my mum and I were talking about plans, and I recon we could save some money and have the exact same wedding pretty much by going for an Escape Wedding as opposed to wishes (will be about 15 guests I think so it seems smart.

BUT

Now I'm worried I won't get the Wedding Pavillion!!! (I want the 2.30/3pm slot, on a weekday Feb/March/April time) followed by WR reception and wishes DP.

Having seen your TRs I can tell I'm going for the most popular options!!!!

Will these all be booked up at 8 months???

I have similar concerns. When I initially called DFTW they said the more open you are the better chance you have of getting a location. DF WANTS THE WP!!! NO ACCEPTIONS! :rotfl: Ok...I wanted 10:00...but figure it really doesn't matter what time the wedding is. While I will not bend on the Monday-Thursday thing...Anyday will be fine. I figure if he has his heart set on the WP we can make it work. -The WP is my first choice too but would like to check out other locations, but I'm happy he wants the same location I do. :lovestruc

My suggestion, be flexible.

Don't quote me, but I believe you are going to run into some difficulty booking a reception in the GF for a wedding if you are having an escape wedding.

You can not book a reception at the Whitehall room (or any convention center) if you are an escape. You will have to eat at one of the restaurants and probably make your own reservations/plans etc. I am not sure how you are doing the math but if it will be the same you will get a lot more perks as a Wishes bride (like planning session, menu tasting, cake tasting etc.) HTH:goodvibes

Actually, I believe there are some locations that an Escape planner will book for you. Mine offered to book the Attic at the Boardwalk for a reception or rent out Spoodles.

That's true, some will help, I think it is the luck of the draw though.

Some places that you can have a reception and book a private room as an escape bride are the California Grill and Jiko. That's interesting about the Attic as I have never heard of it being offered to escape brides, its a beautiful location!

Oh, no! That sucks about WR!!!

Guess I'm back to Wishes then!!

Thanks girls for helping!

This is why we had a wishes wedding with only 12 guests.

us too, we had a wishes wedding with 18 guests as we wanted to be able to do the whole reception and dessert party and not just the cake sutting bit that the escape wedding comes with. I'm so glad we did do it this way, ok it was more money but we got everything we wanted and the day was so smooth. the wedding planning team are great and they make sure you have a perfect day

I think that if you have an escape wedding and do a reception and have a DP you will come out to about the same price as the minimum for a Wishes wedding. Of course, it may be a little more but at least you get the perk of having a choice as many of the girls previously said.

Flexibility and options are why we changed to planning a wishes VR. Our guest number is alittle more than the escape max, but we had looked at wishes for the options and flexibility. good luck:goodvibes
