What Are the Chances

What are the chances of getting seated as a walkup if I arrive at a restaurant at opening? I'm trying to get an ADR for my next trip, but nothing's available. I plan to keep calling, and trying to get that ADR, but if I don't, is there a good chance I could be seated anyway?

The restaurant opens at 4:30 for dinner, so if I'm there at like 4:15, what are my chances?

It depends on the restaurant. I think you would have your best chance going at the very early time or late though. I know when we had 4:30 ADRs for 1900 Park Fare in Jan they were turning walk ups away and I've seen the same at Chef Mickey's probably because a large percentage of their ADRs show up but at less popular places you probably have a decent shot unless it's a super busy time of year.

I think you have a good chance when you are early. When we went Feb 08, I tried to get a ADR for Chef Mickey but they were all booked up the whole week we were there...we spend the day in MK and my son wanted to ride the monorail so we went and stop at CR so he can go to the game room. Chef Mickey was openning up and I told them I don't have ADR and what is a wait time if they have any seating for us...w/i 5 mins we were seated. When we went in May 08 we did not have any ADR for breakfast or Dinner at BOMA and w/i 5 mins we were seated. When we don't have ADR we try to go when they first open. My husband jokes that when we do have ADR we usually wait for about 30 mins but when we don't we get seated as soon as possible.

It depends.Most of the year, it is doable.BUT if yo uare going during the free dining period, it may not be as simple.

We have friends who live in Florida and say that if they can't get an ADR for BOMA they just arrive at opening and have always been seated. They do this a lot

I think you have a good chance but I also think it depends on what resturant you are looking for to.
