What are the Chances That We Can Accomplish This ??

We will be arriving at Orlando Intl Airport (MCO) at 11:38 AM on the First day of our vacation in late Sept. We'll be taking Mears Transport (that's what we were given with our "kids-fly-free" pkg) to POR. Do you think that it's feasible to get to our resort, check-in, and get over to Epcot in time for the 3 PM Ice Cream Social at the Garden Grill ??(as long as there are no obvious flight delays due to weather or mechanical difficulties) It's the only "surprise" I've arranged for our 3 dds (they know about all our other PS's). My DH and I are hoping that if they get a chance to meet with the characters right from the start, we won't be spending our first afternoon and evening trying to track down the characters (plus, we can't wait to see our 3 yr old's face when she meets Mickey). We're willing to store our luggage at the front desk of POR if our room isn't ready for check-in. Do you think we have enough time, or are we setting ourselves up for a big disappointment (another key reason why we've kept this as a "surprise" from our kids - then they can't be disappointed if it doesn't work out). Thanks for your advice.

It will be very easy to do as long as you do not have a flight delay.

Yes, it is possible. On our last 3 trips our flight has arrived around 11:30. We have taken Mears to DXL, which stops at PO first. We checked in and were on our way to Epcot between 1 and 1:30.
