What are the chances of sitting next to the tank at Coral Reef?

I have a 12:20 lunch adr there on June 12. The cm told me that lunch starts at 12:00 so I thought if I get there at 12:00 we will have a good chance at sitting next to or close to the tank. Does anyone have experience with this?

We've eaten there a few times and have always been able to sit right up against the tank. We ask nicely :) I think some people prefer not to be right up against the tank and like to be seated on the raised part of the restaurant a bit further back, but we like being watched by the fish as they watch us! One of our favorite places to eat...

When we were there last Sept. our ADR's were for 12 noon. We got there at 11 :50 and all the tables by the tank were already gone.

I asked the CM, I thought lunch started at 12. She said , it does. :confused3

I've sat right next to the tank and I've sat at the next level up and actually preferred sitting a bit further from the tank, you can see so much more.

We have always had a table next to the tank and have loved it (lucky I guess). When we went with a larger group, 8 I think... we had a booth on the main floor (bottom level, not sure what to call that) infront of the tank.. A great view facing the tank but it did spread out the group and it was hard to talk to eachother when you're not facing one another or closer together.

We had dinner there last Thursday and asked when we checked in. Our ADR was for 5:50 and we showed up early (5:20 or so). When we asked, the CM said he would check and then a few minutes later they came over to tell us it would be a 25 min wait or so. It was about a 20 minute wait, but well worth it! Other parties were being seated right away but I think it was worth the wait. Maybe you could stop by before noon and ask the CMs at check-in what you should do. Good Luck!

We had ADR's for 5:00 last year, got there 10 minutes early, had to wait about 40 minutes and were told nothing was available near the tank. We were very disappointed in the restaurant.

I think you *really* have to like aquariums to like Coral Reef.

We do, but we know people who were bored silly, too...

Thank you to all who replied!! I love this board! I guess I will just request it and see what happens. My kids really want to eat there. I will just have to explain to them that we may not get to sit right next to the aquarium.

We were there last year in May I think we were there about 15-20 minutes before Adr's and asked if we could sit close. We did sit right by the glass. Next time I think I would prefer next level so we could see more. Good luck

Last May with family of 10 we go there.
