What are the chances of getting the WP

My fiance and I are getting really nervous. We booked our wedding for Seabreeze Pointe but my elderly grandfather is walking me down the aisle and I don't want him to have to walk that far to get to the gazebo nor do I want him to be cold if the weather happens to be bad that day. Our wedding date is set for January 8th at 2:00 pm and we've already booked our honeymoon at OKW by renting points. I would now really rather be in the Wedding Pavillion for the sake of grandpa and weather (also I really like the castle in the background) I know that there is a lottery but do you think there is any chance whatsoever of us getting the same date on a Monday there? I can't ask to change the date until April 8th and I'm so worried about it that I'm about to chew my nails to bits!

You should be able to get it- I would call exactly 1 year out and even before that and start talking to the FTW department. That's what I did- the poor coordinators-I probably drove them crazy just to make sure that they knew the date and time and the WP was what I wanted. I called everyday for 2 weeks prior to the 1 year mark to ensure that they knew what I wanted.

Have you called your sm? They could probably tell you if it is already booked for the time and day.

I'm an intimate, which means I can only have the WP at the 8 month mark and contacting my SM is like an act of congress! I takes forever to get a response from her. I'm not picky on the time of day, just the place. How many weddings can they do a day at the WP?

I am an intimate bride too- they must have changed the rules for booking. For Intimate brides I think they do at least 3 if not 4 or possibly more weddings a day at the WP.- every 2 hours. The lottery system is only for custom brides as I understand it. Who is your EM if you don't mind me asking? Call exactly on the day of the Wedding 8 months out to talk to the EM and start getting things rolling. I called at 9:30 a.m. Florida time and was ok. If you can't talk to your EM leave a message and ask that some one get back to you as it is imparitive that you get the day that you want. The EM that is on call that day should call you back. Don't stress yourself out too much it will all work out! Here's some pixie dust for you

If you're not successful getting the WP, talk with your EM about your concerns with your grandfather. There are always tons of golf carts zipping around and surely they could borrow one to "transport" him to the wedding site...... hope your wishes come true ...

I wouldn't be worried at all. As long as you don't have your heart set on a specific time You'll be fine.

you could also look into a golf cart rental to bring him from the boardwalk to seabreeze. i know our em has arranged 1 golf cart from the yc gazebo to marthas vineyard for 3 of our older relatives who have trouble walking.

as for getting the wp, have you made the change in venue with your sm? do that first & soon. i wouldnt think it would be a problem for january to get the wp as long as youre flexible with times. fyi the wp is more $.
