Shades of Green is still operating at limited capacity. Reservations does not know when more rooms will be added to their available inventory. Neither does the hotel operator. The answer I got was we are following CDC guidelines. Does anyone know what those guidelines are? The only thing I can think of is that rooms must remain empty X number of hours between guests.

I am not sure exactly what you are looking for but the guideline is:
  • Limit the number of people in the hotel at one time. (Consult state and local guidance if available.)
It is up to the hotel to work with state/local guidance to determine where capacity should be to operate with less risk.
With this comes reduced staffing. Pretty much all hotels are operating under limited capacity at this point, Shades of Green is not exempt.

i would not think it would be exempt. It seems to be more stringent.

None of the Disney people you can get on the phone will know that information. Management will be the one making the decisions on when to expand their capacity. Entry level customer service people will be advised after the decision has been made. As it relates to making a reservation, either the place you want to stay does/does not have rooms available for the dates your are interested in. If not and you plan to travel on specific dates, best to look for a different Disney hotel.

Availability at a specific hotel can be the result of several factors (i.e. upcoming convention/special event, covid restrictions, Disney balancing availability of workers with hotel capacity, etc.) none of which you have any control over.

In addition, Shades of Green is a DoD facility so it must also follow DoD guidance. Right now the DoD is beginning to expand capacity within DoD facilities.

All local Orange County Covid restrictions (WDW) have been removed. It is up to the individual establishment on masking, social distancing or capacity limits.
