Im looking at ticket prices for our upcoming trip to Universal / IOA. What are the benefits of an annual pass? Do you get special hotel discounts or other things like that? I am get the one that has several block out dates b/c we like to go in the off season.

You know, I completely forgot to ask about any AP discounts when we were there. So I have no idea.
We got a 10% discount on food in a couple restaurants with my American Express.

I got the AP just for the hotel discount.

What kind of hotel discounts do they offer? That is one of the main reasons I may get the AP. But, I cant find any info on it...

The hotel discounts come and go, use APH on the hotel's website rate box to see if any annual pass rates are available. You can also call the hotel and ask too. Be ready to show your pass, though I have never been asked. The rates can be good, but are rarely during busy times.

you can book the onsite hotel with your basic ap if there are rooms alloted at time of booking.
just by having the ap does not automatically give you the discounted rate.

no other discounts per the chart that dee linked.

I was surprised how little the discount was. For first week of May, a club level room at the Portofino goes from $350 per night to $344 per night on a four night stay.

We are staying on site.
Where does USO publish which park has early park admission on which days?

The discount isn't a constant. It's not a certain percentage. It's a mystery as to how they figure it. :)

For our upcoming trip starting Monday, the Stay More Save More base rate is $155.81/night. The APH rate is $164.00. And that APH rate is far less than it had been in the months previous! I keep holding out hope that it'll go lower...lower than my rate at least.

OP, bookmark this site. Check it often. Book when there's a rate you could live with.

Put "APH" into the Code field and see what it is. Check it often.

If the rate comes down, just call them and get it switched. The Universal phone reps are SOOOOO nice. I mean just so nice. Every time I delay calling, every time I forget to do it, and every time, when they have happily taken great care of me in no time flat, I say "I don't know why I always wait to call you!" And they giggle and say thank you.
