What are the advantages to registering with Magical Gatherings?

We are meeting up with some family in WDW in July and we did register as a Grand Gathering to do the Magical Fireworks Cruise (my son LOVES pirates ).

Other then booking the specific Magical Gatherings events is there any other benefit to letting them know you have a large party? I was hoping it would help us with ADRs but for each and every one they had to split us between two tables!!! GGRRRRR.

We have 10 people in total. 6 adults, 2 kids, and 2 toddlers I didn't think it would be so difficult to seat us together and we DID make our ADRs 180 days in advance!

same thing happend to us and we were at 180 too.
I think it has more to do with table configuring or rather lack of the ability to.

I found that they did tell us this on the phone, however when we arrived at the resturant they were all able to accomodate us. We had a party of 11 at 1900 Park Fare and Cape May Cafe. We had 8 at the Yachtsman. For each of these they put us all together when we checked in, but we were told on the that we would be at seperate tables.
