WHAT are the advantages of the Paddock

I will let you know when I figure that one out myself. :confused3 :confused3 :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It is the newest section though.

There was a trip report earlier on the boards. Someone got the Paddock and was at first disappointed - but then said they loved the location. The busses were never full when they got on (but by the time they got to the front buildings they had to leave people behind), they were close to a quiet pool, had a great view, they walk was only something like 7 minutes to the main pool and buildin (and she said this was wilth her elderly parents). She said she was VERY pleased with the location and would certainly reccomend it. I wish I could remember who posted it- maybe they'll see your thread - it was only a few days ago......

Stayed in the Paddock area a few months a go. There are great views of the DTD area from the quiet pool. The walk from our room to DTD was only 8 minutes. I would highly recomend this area if you're staying at SSR.

Some members of this board are looking forward to the Reedy Creek firehouse view! :teeth:

Having lived in 3 places next to or down the street from a firehouse, I don't need the view - the siren tradeoff didn't compensate. But I imagine that there are far fewer siren calls in that part of the world....

The Paddock...aka "The Woodshed"...???

I'm an SSR owner, but when I bought, the Woodshed wasn't on the plan...and I don't like the idea of staying there. Unless some of the rumors are true....then maybe...

Just returned from SSR. We were in the Springs and liked the location. We did walk the entire resort and we found the Paddocks to be very nice and relaxing. Would never have a problem staying there.

The Paddock has been part of the planned resort from the beginning and is included on all of the maps and detailed plans. The three original "areas" are Congress Park, The Springs and The Paddock.

To my knowledge, DVC has not announced a name for the wooded area just added for Phase 3 or the resort. A couple of the buildings for Phase 3 have been added to the Paddocks, but it appears that 4 buildings will be in the wooded area on the golf course.

Well I certainly won't argue with Doc, but the building count and names of the sections do not add up with what we were shown...as for the Paddock name, here's some official synonyms: sty, cage, corral. Yipes! ;)

The three named areas have been titled with regard to actual areas at Saratoga Springs, NY. Congress Park is one such area of the community, the Springs refers to the spa and natural springs area of the town and the Paddock area is name after the horseracing history of the community. The wall between Artist's Pallette and The Turf Club at the resort is adorned with jockey uniforms and colors- also as a reference to the horseracing heritage.

Congress Park is comprised of 4 buildings, the Springs has 3 buildings and the original plan (phase 1 and 2 planned 12 buildings) was for a total of 5 buildings in the Paddock area of the resort- bringing . When Phase 3 was announced, they suggested that another 6 buildings in total would be added. At least two additional structures seem to be under construction in the Paddock area right now and any others will be in the wooded area on the golf course- also currently under construction.

Last week, the first bus stop next to the buildings under construction was the Carousel.

Um, nono, what the heck are you trying to say? I'm just not getting your "nudge nudge wink wink" point....

ETA: I'm serious, not being sarcastic - I don't know which neighborhood of SSR nono means, and what the problem is....
