I am worried and excited .......
Okay I am 16 and I am going on a Walt disney Cruise but I am worried because I don't know if there will be a lot of activities for me. I know about that club but will that be enought to keep me occupied the whole time? and is the teen club thing that fun?

The nice thing about the teen program is that you can choose to participate in the activities or just hang in "The Stack." THere is music, reading material, computers, etc, as well as just hanging with people your age.

My daughter has found that the key to a good cruise is making a friend in the first day or 2. You might try the cruise meet section or come to chat on a Fri. nite and see if there is another teen that you can communicate with on line before your cruise.

DCL has movies, stage shows, variety shows, games/contests, hanging in the sun...all in addition to the teen program. The teen shore excursions are wonderful. Seriously, if you can't have fun on THIS cruise, you really aren't trying. There really is stuff for everyone of any age.

My "cruising partners" have ranged from age 4 to 49, and ALL had a blast. There are a lot more young people on board if you are travelling on a school break...but there are always some at any time. There is one dining room rotation for adults travelling alone and families with older kids (like 10 and up), so you won't be overwhelmed with little kids at meals either. Will "The Stack" keep you busy all the time? Probably not. However, we've found that the real issue is that there is more to do than we can possibly fit in a day, not that there is a lack of stuff

There's a teen party EVERY night.....different theme each night.
Have fun.

I am speaking for my teenage son, but I can tell you, he had a blast. He was totally unsure about the whole cruise thing. He went to the FYI the first night, and we only saw him at breakfast after that. There are things to do from early afternoon until the wee hours of the morning. Some activities don't even start until midnight! He did not want to get off the ship, and has even asked to go on a seven night cruise. Don't worry, you will have a great time. He is now keeping in touch with his shipboard friends via email! I have heard on this board, and it was a good idea, to go to the FYI so you can be in on things from the start! :earsgirl:

My son was 16 when we cruised Disney last time and he had an absolute blast. I wouldn't hesitate to say that it was probably the best summer he ever had!

He quickly made friends with EVERYONE! He constantly (yes, even to supper on non-formal nights) walked around the ship with huge tiger slippers on. Even adults knew who my fun-loving son was! He met teens from all over the world.

He rarely came in before 3 or 4 AM and was never in trouble.

He is now 19 and a Marine. He dreams of other type cruises these days but still communicates via AIM with the friends he made on the cruise.

My daughter was 11 on that cruise and begged for another cruise the following year because she loved the independence and activities so much. Our 2nd cruise wasn't Disney :(. She was more than thrilled when we booked our 3rd cruise in 4 years. At 13, she is looking forward to moving into the teen group this time around.

Just think of it this way . . . . you will probably never see any of these people again once you return home. Vacation, have a great time, be open to making new friends, and you'll have a blast! Make sure to take along a digital camera to record the things that you'll be off doing on your own!
