What are some of your trip traditions?

I love traditions, and I love Disney (of course!) so I wanted to hear about your must-do trip traditions!

For us, we always have to "visit an old friend" and go to Cosmic Ray's. And we absolutely can't do Hall of Presidents until we've had lunch and a dole whip first!

The only tradition we hold true on every trip is to try something new. Whether it be a meal, an attraction, a resort, etc. we try at least one new thing on every trip.

We always start and end each trip by riding Pirates. It has to be our first and last ride, every trip. :)

On kid trips, we have a goal to ride Space Mountain an equal number of times to the last two digits of the year. We started this in 2012, in which we rode it 12 times during the trip. This year it will be 17... It's getting harder and harder to do it, and takes some strategy. Rope drop, FP, end of the night, special events, etc.

My wife is not a fan of this tradition...

We always visit Disney Springs the day we arrive in Florida. That visit includes a trip to Goofy's Candy Company where I buy a big bag of no sugar added chocolate covered peanuts. We absolutely have to do a PPO breakfast at Crystal Palace every trip. A late supper at Rose and Crown so we can stay for Illuminations is a necessity. We always bring home a years supply of tea from the Twinings Tea shop in UK at Epcot. Our last day is always at MK.

A couple of years ago, my son started something that has kind of stuck. Every time we got off of, or out of any kind of transportation (our car, a boat, monorail, what ever) he insisted that my wife and I would hug and kiss. We've been doing it for about three years now :)

We haven't really built any definite ones yet, but we've gone to CRT both times and have reservations again this year.

CP for Winnie the Pooh meet and greet may become one much as I really hope it doesn't. As a 2 year old they were the only characters my DS was happy to meet and that trend continues. I'd really like to be done with the place but it's too cute to pass up right now. :flower:

Always MK first, always take the monorail in (unless it's down)

Some rides are "tradition" in that it won't feel like a WDW trip unless we get on them...Splash Mountain, Small World, etc...

We always stay off site, so we have a few traditions there too...a gift shop we like, a Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins we like.

This was a short-lived tradition mainly to help our young DD cope a little. She "wrote" and drew a card for her grandpa who passed away shortly after her first trip to WDW. She was almost 3 at the time. No way to process or understand that she would never see him again. We took the note, bought a balloon on Main St, tied the note to it, and let her let it go so it would get to grandpa. I think we did this 3x and that was all. Her very limited memory of him faded away. The first time we did it, the look we got from the CM was "Why the heck did you just do that?" After explaining it to her, she was so teary-eyed she gave another balloon to DD for the day.

On our last day we visit all 4 parks and end our trip in Magic Kingdom (usually around 1am or later).

Always MK on the last day... and always Epcot in the afternoon/evening we arrive (one or two FPs, dinner and world showcase)...

After over 30 years of going and over 40 trips, we don't really have any traditions except we used to make sure we went every other year. Now I usually go twice a year - F&G and F&W and my son tries to make at least one of those trips with me. Otherwise, we don't have to eat at a certain place or ride a certain ride or even visit a certain park first or last. I do try to see Tinkerbell fly every trip but even that doesn't always happen.

First breakfast is always Mickey waffles (and then we pretty much have them every other breakfast of the trip, too). We have no real ride traditions, but we have two "picture" traditions - oldest DD at the entrance to Liberty Square, and teen DD at a spot in Epcot Mexico. They pose the same way in the exact spot every trip.

We usually stay at a Epcot resort, so while we wait for villa assignment and/or luggage, we wander over to Epcot Mexico for nachos and a frozen margarita.

Chef Mickey's for breakfast on departure day :) It's been a fun tradition for us. And we always hit the Magic Kingdom on arrival day, but I think lots of people do that too.

Our first stop after checking in the Board Walk is seen below, every time. Seriously. Also every Sat we hit Raglan Road during Food&Wine.

We have a handful of traditions. We always start our trip with a visit to Disney Springs on arrival day and Build a Dino. Pick out an ornament with the year on it. Have a silhouette of DS cut at MK. Our first MK day we recreate my profile picture. What was an impulsive candid photo on our first trip quickly became my favorite and I love to see how he's changed from trip to trip. MK is always our final park and we take a moment on our way out to blow a teary eyed kiss toward the castle and tell Mickey we'll see him real soon

DW has to make all of us ride IASW every trip.
Have to get a picture of DS7 running on the musical instrument pressure pads in Imagination Works (The play are after Journey into Imagination with Figment).
Here's the first one we took when he was 16months
