What are some good books on South Carolina?

I have a family friend who is originally from South Carolina and I would like to know if there's any good guidebooks or coffee table books I could get for her? She is really interested in South Carolina history and loves looking up facts about her home state. What South Carolina guidebooks does anybody recommend?
