What are saving up for right now?

A new house-- hoping to save the $10,000 more we need by the end of the year. My goal is to be moved by this time next year.

lots of things - a new windshield for one of the cars, dental work, home improvements, a fence, a bedroom set, a hot tub, college tuition for myself and dh

I just found out our car insurance is going up $50/month so we're now saving up for that. and my yearly water bill is going to be arriving soon.

A trip to Disney/Universal near Christmas and a trip to the Jersey shore in the Fall when no one is around and we have the entire island to ourselves! :bounce:

Our wedding in Oct and honeymoon at Disney, and for our cruise in January.

A new van. We have saved for this for years and we will get it soon. Also the 3 ds tuition which starts monthly in august and new furniture. Ours is 20 years old and the stuffing is showing. We will start renting fil house in sept. so that will help us to have a positive cash flow. Also part of ds car insurance. That is enough to worry about.

A new wardrobe once I hit my goal weight!

Both Disney trips....I have about $50 saved for Disneyland :earseek: But I should have tickets and hotel paid for before I go. So I just need another $150 or $200 for food and souvies. Gas was already accounted for in monthly budget

WDW- I have already paid for hotel and airfare and MNSSHP ticket. Just have to pay for park ticket and food.

Beyond that----we're thinking of trying for baby #3, so I need to start saving for a new crib and dresser (DS#2 broke our first crib).:D

BTW - DH plays, and he usually finds the best deals through Musicians Friend. Do you get their catalog? They are online as well... He has a Guild and a Yamaha right now. You might want to check them out and see if they have that Fender any cheaper. We order from them often and have never had a problem...
Wow! I was surprised at the responses. I've never started a thread that got more than 1 page of replies. :) Sounds like vacations, college and moving are the big expenses everyone is working at.

Yes, Aimeedyan, I found Musician's Friend. I've heard lots of good things about the site, so I'm going to keep an eye on them. I know I requested a catalog from one of those sites, maybe it was them. The Fender I looked at is availabe on the website for the same price. Looking at my auctions this morning, it seems I'm just a little bit closer to having that new 6-string in my hands. ::yes::

I have a savings account solely for vacations! Unfortunately, I only have 2 vacations lined up so far (I already took 2 short vacations this year).

-White Mtns, NH for a long weekend in July.
-WDW in November!

I'm hoping to go to Las Vegas next year, but only time will tell. Oh, my daughter has to start preschool at some time. I suppose I should start saving up for that too. :p

Short term- WDW in October
Mid Term- Hopefully a house next year
Long Term- College and retirement

DH and I have been married almost 15 years. At that time I was very NOT into color...everything I bought was white or neutral. Now I've discovered color, so now I have a fund with which I am replacing my every day dishes and glasses...working toward (a) colorful and (b) coordinating/matching.

I really don't know. I always like to save for car repairs, although I haven't had any major issues yet! I guess that I'm saving to go to Costa Rica some day, and camp in Yellowstone too. :sunny:
