What are my options for expiring points?

I have 115 points that will expire at the end of May, 2011. We are planning to do the DCL 7 day Med. in the summer of 2011, but unfortunately, these points will expire before then. We didn't want to plan an expensive vacation before then, as we are saving for the cruise. I've looked into the possibility of a long weekend in NYC, since we live in S. Jersey and we could drive there in less than 2 hours, but it appears that these RCI exchanges are not easy to come by. I've considered renting these points, but I don't know the first thing about it and it makes me a little nervous to book a reservation on banked points that I will lose if the other party changes their mind. My home resort is BWV.

Renting is not all that bad. If you can't use them then try to rent them. If you are still concerned with renting, check out Dave's Vacation Club Rentals that are advertised on the DIS Boards ( http://www.dvcrequest.com/) I've read nothing but good things on the forum boards about his service. Besides, if the renters back out, you were going to loose the points anyway.
