What are my chances?????

I've been posting about unloading some points via a renter or tranfer. Unfortunately I have found out since I'm a newbie and my paperwork has not been filed yet tranfers are out for now. I can rent or reserve. Now comes the tough part. I called today for a two bedroom at BWV and after a 6 hour wait I got on a phone with a helpful individual. Everything is booked even the linen closet for the second week in March. I realize its very short notice but I put myself on a waiting list. Has anybody had success or failure with this system? The down side as well, is that to bank all my points I would have to know by Jan 31st and we really can't book flights until we know.....
The funny thing is that I'm requesting 7 nights in row but I need only 2 nights to complete the week. Seems like a lot of people book for 2 or 3 days.

The wait list does work- but you are now within about 60 days or arrival and you habe no way to tell where you are on the waitlist. If you had been on the list since last fall, I'd usullay feel you still have a good chance of getting your request. At this point (and because it's during the busy SPring Break period) you may not have great luck. It also sounds like you are using the regular waitlist where your entire stay will have to become available at once instead of automatically getting each day as it becomes available. MS will not save available days for the waitlist- you will get your reservation only if you are at the top of the list and all days are available. Those on the sutomatic list will get days added as they become available.

I'd stay on the list until the last minute and then bank the points into next year.
